What is the hardest game you've ever played? Mine is the original Red Alert in skirmish mode the enemy somehow manged to amass a large army of the most upgraded units while I still had basic units and scouting.

lots of platforming games come to my mind, like megaman original series, donkey kong 2... none of the hardest games I played are for PC, i think

actually, some modern games at the "INSANELY HARD THAT YOU CAN NEVER BEAT MUAHAHA" difficulty can be, well, insanely hard. But it just doesn't feel right to me you have to headshot an unarmored guy with a shotgun 5 times for him to die, while you go down if he sneeze.
I'm not saying thats wrong or anything, it's good if you like the game and want some more challenge, but I preffer games that have their difficulty built in their core gameplay, like those NES/SNES platforming I mentioned.

Shadow of the Beast 2. Limited energy with no continues, hard-to-kill baddies, and one-chance-then-you're-screwed puzzles meant this game could only be fully enjoyed with the invincibility cheat activated.

SW: KotOR for me by far. I'm terrible at RPG's, with all the item and skill management, and so I just took what sounded awesome and always got my ass kicked by Malak...yay for cheats!

Ninja Gaiden (xbox) on the hardest difficulty is pretty hardcore with some crazy good boss battles.

Rome Total War Barbarian expansion. The hordes are insane, how can you beat back like 5 or 6 massive armies at your capitol each turn? I don't care how big your walls are.

Probably any fast-paced RTS. I'm not used to quickly multitask in games.

Either N or Super Meat Boy. I've finished Super Meat Boy and beaten 4 columns of levels in N. I guess I have a thing for excruciatingly difficult precision platformers. It doesn't matter how hard they are, I'll like them as long as they have precise controls and non-bullshit deaths. If a death is totally out of my control a la IWTBTG, that's bullshit. If I can attribute every one of my deaths to some fault on my part, it's not.

Tie between Super Meat Boy and Demon's Souls. Super Meat Boy for obvious reasons and Demon's Souls because it actually requires strategy! *GASP*. But in reality, it is a brutal game on you when you make a mistake, and sometimes you just don't wanna move forward 'cause your scared some new enemy is gonna pop up and completely wreck the strategies you have made thus far.

I have a suggestion. DON'T FUCKING PLAY DEMON SOUL! EVER! Its pure evil. I would tear my eyes out of frustration before I could ever beat Demon Soul.

Question: Did you play while connected to PSN and during October? 'Cause if you did, then it would be even more brutal then usual due to ALL of the worlds being 100% dark(AKA hardest possible.)

I followed my own advice and didn't play Demon Soul.
