They look like europeans in a colonial war.

I'll take a guess and try the opium wars, and those are french troops, probably the foreign legion? (i'm know i ain't right)

If you look on the top left of the picture you can see kosack like uniforms indicating the defending posision is taken by russian troops. Also the collour of the environment and the collour of the fortress indicate a warm reagion kaukasus or some other south western border (maybe ottoman border). Also the 2nd man from the front of the guys who lie at the wall. seams to reload his weapon from the back so no front loader wich limits this picture to a time period after 1870. My guess would be the russo-ottoman war but no clue wich battle or wich year.

ok going by sirdust's analysis, i found that the picture came from The Russo-Turkish war, at the Battle of Bayazet.
Well the name of the troops i don't know, but some searching would find their name.
I leave my turn to sirdust =D

I'd guess this is the plan for a German offensive on the Soviet Union, near Bryansk, but i don't really know what you want me to say what this is, Operation Barbarossa?

hmmm, there's the Battle of Kursk.

Edit: now i see Manstein's name there, this is absolutely the battle of kursk, where he lost a lot of panzer divisions, this was the last german offensive on the soviet union!!

You are correct. Ofcourse i let operation citadel in there on purpose, i don't want to allways post impossible pictures who can't be solved by just anyone. Sometimes i post hard ones like the one of Busch and sometimes easier ones.

T13 Belgian self-propelled gun which is a vickers light tank with a 47mm anti-tank gun mounted on top.

ps: sneaky devil, asking something only a Belgian would have known
