One is a mask probably from a religious festival, the other is an image of a battle. They both kind of suck, the mask less so. Although the mask could just be a replica.

That's your opinion. Doesn't make European art more "advanced".

When you say any piece of art "sucks", I doubt you've ever truly appreciated any piece of art.

Oh cool, by that logic I'm apparently only blind to it when it's Natives and Africas apparently because East Asian culture I get perfectly fine.

I appreciated the European art I gave you.

As in, I appreciated fruit over the two stick-figures fighting.

They have meaning to natives that you clearly have no consideration for. Also if you find it ugly don't come to Canada we have Native art on our money and in our art museums.

Ya, America tried to put native art a while back(a few decades) but it was a huge bomb and we're slowly shifting away from it.

And by huge bomb, I mean everyone walked straight by the Native art and spent hours looking and admiring the European art.

    Actually it does.

    [spoiler:n7l0uwkr][IMG][/spoiler:n7l0uwkr]
This, Asian Art, is also really complex(although I don't like it as much, opinion really). The Native American art could've by anyone with a freaking pencil and paper.

You do realize that religion played an equal role in virtually all cultures, right? You can't make the assumption that it played a religious role, but not the others.

    This, a thousand times, this

Yes and what was created with that pencil and paper is art with a meaning.

The UN is powerful enough. Anything further and you start breaching national sovereignty.

This is my position.[/quote:2ax6cij8]I thought you were an anarchist... Federalism isn't anarchy. Especially the kind that only exists on a meta level over far more powerful national governments.

The two stick figures fighting was not religious. I know because they were bleeding all over eachother so it would be a pretty weird religion otherwise.

Also, while it's just as important that was one of the best pieces you find if you search Native American art.

Not really. You obviously know nothing about art if you think the technique determines the skill level of art. It's all about the meaning.

Well it's art and it has a meaning. It's just really shitty art that I doubt anyone studies or anything. I'm sure people study Da Vinci.

It isn't religious it could mean many things it could the spirit of a native battle or it could be a story of a warrior see just open your mind.

It is totally off topic. Though I'm not sure what exactly the topic is; Demon and I are discussing one thing, Kara and the others something completely different (and different than what it was 5 minutes ago no less), and then all of the older posts that are also off topic. Like four threads worth of topics here...

EDIT: Oh, and I would split it but that's a huge pain and it's pretty impossible to get the breaking points.

@Surfusa, yes it should be locked. Also this would make a REALLY good thread in the Political Sections. "What is Art"
Ok, my stick figure beating up another stick figure = an art that can rival Da Vinci because I say it has meaning.

    I agree.

Most anarchists are federalists. Although our federation would be a federation of trade unions, not nation states.
