He randomly tacked that sentence onto the end of one of his posts; there was no reason for it other than to personally insult me. Now he's trying to dodge heat because no one agreed with him despite his insistence he was speaking for the silent masses.

Ok, maybe it'll be hard to put two and two together, but just create an alternet account in another group that is designed to deliver infractions and bans. Mods would all know the password and username, and thus would log on when they wanted to infract someone.

However, for a Mod's personal account, I see no reason why Egyptianplanet or LK should be unable to add them as a Foe if they so choose. I believe you can even still see the posts of those that have you as a Foe, so it doesn't limit the modship's ability to police or anything.

It wouldn't be very difficult, in fact it would be really pretty easy.

No actually you abuse your powers a lot by letting your personal opinions of people bias your insight on them. If Inquisitor breaks a rule you will say it's a isolated event at best, if Che breaks one it's another example of Che's horrible persona and attitude.

Same with most mods, and almost every person on the planet as well.

Comparing Inquisitor to Che? Really? Che didn't break "one" Che broke rules pretty much every day since he came back from the last ban. They could just ignore our posts warning them in threads or our PMs, it would limit our abilities to do our jobs and lead to more people getting in trouble. I have never once warned, edited/deleted posts or banned you on personal feelings nor would I treat a report by you any less seriously, that would be abusing powers.
