I figured since this...you know the historical events section of the forums, it would be a good place to talk about a historical character who helped engineer one of the greatest man-made famines ever.

No, I don't think this would be a very good idea. Just think about it morally, what is your intentions on posting this? Are you going to tell a story, or raise a point? I see little to no reason why it should be here.

We watched it in school and I thought it would be interesting to get another major historical debate going which we seem to be lacking in this section in recent times. Also its history.

I don't think History would imply a bias view on Communism and the Soviets, based on an event in which they were unfortunate to have happen to them.

We have a forum almost completely made up of ocmmies and socialists and from what I recall, the forum is completely split right down the center on whether The USSR was good or bad and whether Stalin was good or bad. That makes for an interesting debate, which it has played out to be so far.

Back to my original point, it shouldn't be here regardless of whether or not it makes for a shit and a giggle for you.

Imperial Russia was on track to surpass Germany in terms of industrial capacity by the time WW2 came around so that doesn't really carry much weight.
