I hate football but that is neither here nor there. Replace it with Broadway shows and your going up my alley. The only thing that will change now is we might get oil from them.

Where are all those people who're pissed off 'cause Gaddhafi is dead? When Osama died there were a bunch of guys across the whole muslim world who wanted revenge...

Though I support the Revolution, I do feel that killing him, and in such a way was unjust. I believe the only right thing to do would have been to put him on international trial. Gaddafi may have been a horrible person, but he doesn't compare to the Nazi's, who themselves were put to international court.

@ Mayor - Quite the contrary. The next few months, or years will be interesting to observe.

Would've been interesting to see him on trial - they were lenient enough with the Nazis, surely Gadaffi would've got off pretty lightly considering his charges were probably not that convincing, although he would've had the disadvantage of being almost the only person on trial.

Fun fact: In 2000 Gadaffi paid ransom to Jonno rebels for two Finns, who god kid napped by them.

He also provided free education (and health care, I think) to the citizens during the oil crisis.

Best (realistic) case scenario, the NTC will become a Social Democracy.
Worst (realistic case scenario, a Civil War starts and a strong man becomes President for Life.

Gaddafi was already giving us Oil.

    Ugh, Social Spending.

Well, worst case scenario: Ghaddafi has been made a martyr to the loyalists and we get another Iraq.

I wish they had a trail i would think it would be interesting but oh well he would have died none the less. So when this conflict started then anyone expect this outcome and the death of Gaddafi.

Well he's dead I see no problem with them killing him and not putting him on trial.

The outcome was going to be the same no matter what, he's dead. Now lets see how the NTC can run Libya.

Hopefully, the country will stabilize enough to allow government control. If not, we're going to see the Brotherhood taking over.

I am glad he is dead. I hope Libya's new government is about freedom and peace, as opposed to Gaddafi's government.

Gaddafi may have killed people, sponsored terrorism, order assassinations, etc. It cannot be said however that Libya is in a better condition now or will ever be in a better condition than it once was anytime soon. The N.A.T.O bombings have crushed the nation's infrastructure, killed far more people than if no intervention would have taken place, and has allowed terrorist groups like Al-quaeda to take huge amounts of weapons(missiles also) from unguarded armories. The killing of Gaddafi, while understandable, has hindered the movement through the eyes of people due to sympathy. Besides, there really isn't any real hope that a REAL democracy can take place, considering that the rebels all don't share the same views, nor objectives, and most are armed.

If this 'Intervention' shows anything it's that the UN resolutions don't count for shit. Time and time again it has been violated by the very same nations who brought it up. The resolution was supposed to protect the Libyan civilians from harm, yet clearly they didn't give a shit about that and just decided to aid the rebels. The UN is NEVER supposed to pick a side over the other in a civil war! Let me remind you all that the bombings did in fact kill civilians.
