Lost in Minecraft

So I was exploring a cave system on my SP world and now im lost. So my question is have you been lost in a cave so bad that it makes you want to rage quit?

Dig a stair case up and make a new base.

Fuck yea im out of the cave! I swear every cave i go into is a labyrinth.

Whats the fun in that?

Worse comes to worse you can just build a base down there and eat the rotten flesh zombie drop.

When I'm in caves, I play on peaceful because im scared of creepers coming out of the darkness and killing me. I do set up bases but I abandon them when Im done with the cave although I'm thinking of turning my cave system into an underground city for dwarves.

I have gotten lost tons of times. That is how awesome the game is. Just dig to the surface. Though even if you do there is no guarentee that you will find your base again.
And if you don't have a base, no starting point, how can you be lost?

Well I had a wheat farm and an animal farm of pigs, cows, and chickens (but no sheep. Seriously where the fuck did the sheep go?! To the End?!). So I had a lot to lose since it took forever to round up those animals.

Then find the surface and your base. If you ever find it, you can do what other players do... build an incredibly high tower of some cheap material, so no matter where you go, you can find your way back.
Oh, and I'm not sure if your particular version does this, but the sheep and animals die permanently unless you domesticate and harvest them, I think. Some of the older versions and modded versions don't do that and the animals respawn, but yours may.

Well, if you look at my posts above, I found my base. But I havent killed any animals at all until I got my animal farm going. I just can't find any sheep. I've looked around my base and there is no sheep. Well it could be my map that isn't spawning any sheep.

Get a patch. I'm certain that there would be one. Mayhap you have a faulty game or something.

I updated to version 1.0.0, my main problem is i can't find any sheep. My game is not faulty, it runs perfectly.

Then expand your search. Maybe the sheep are elsewhere. Build the tower I mentioned so you don't get lost.

K gotcha on the tower idea. Man, poor steve, he hasn't slept in days. I got real unlucky on the sheep on my map.

Damn that must take some serious had-eye coordination to do, but how does that relate to the topic?

What you should do is bring about 30 wood planks with you whenever you go down into a cave, then you make 2 chests and put all your shit in there, jump in some lava, and find your way back.
