Actually the prequels were originally written at the same time as originals, aswell as parts 7, 8 and 9. But they were written as three movies, which were all too long so they were each split into three. Of course, as with all moves, they've been rewritten tons of times. I guess in the end the plot got buried under all the special effects.
Yeah, this movie was drek also. Visually it was absolutely spectacular and deserves a lot of credit for that. One of the best looking movies ever made. But the story? Dances With Wolves in space. The cliches about the corporate/military complex as the epitome of evil were just overdone and too heavy handed. The audience isn't that stupid, you don't have to beat them over the head with it. And Unobtanium. Really? That's the best name you could come up with?
You know what annoyed me most about "The Last Airbender"? The fact it was such an awesome series. I now have a personal vendetta against Shyamalan. How could he have not seen the crap forming before him? How!? Right, nerd rage over, glad I got it out my system.
I'm pretty good at avoiding offensively bad movies. One that comes to mind immediately is Transformers 2. If I think about this some more, I'm sure that I'll come back and list some more.
I can see why people hated the last airbender as the girl couldnt even pronounce the name aang correctly and i was looking forward to it but what a huge disappointment it was.
Off topic but this just gave me an idea for a horrible movie! A KKK guy is stuck in a room with no doors or windows or anything in it except speakers that constantly blast rap music.
That would be amazing, also instead of nothing in the room there's just a cuboard with a T.V. in that constantly replays Eddie Murphy's old comedy shows
Oh haaai Tito. It's because Tommy Wiseau's sheer ineptitude at movie-making enabled him to become a multi-millionaire, showing that there really is no justice in the world. It's TEARING ME APART!
