I don't know a lick of economics, and I was just looking for some insight as to which is superior, Coins or banknotes? Personally, I voted coins, being the underdog and all. Please discuss, don't just vote.
Coins are definatly the better of the two, even if they are bit less convenient. Coins leave a more lasting legacy then paper money does.
I prefer paper money it's easier but I hate American 1$ dollar bills so damn annoying switch to coins already.
Personally, I'd prefer coins because they are so much more durable than paper money, but I also feel like they're a lot easier to lose than paper money. If the decision is based purely on aesthetics then I choose coins.
From what I've heard, paper is easier and more convenient, but coins are better in the grand scheme of things. A teacher told me that if America completely switched to coins, we would save $500 billion in five years. I don't know, though. The average lifespan of a note is 21 months, that of a coin is about 30 years.
Ever since I tore a hundred dollar bill in half, I have been supporting the abolition of paper money.
I was mostly joking, but I actually do prefer coins. Not only do they just last longer, they're infinitely cheaper to produce. The obnoxious amounts of money we would save is enough to sway me, but let's not forget that coins would also be a big boost for the mining industry, and that most other countries have done away with such low denomination bills, with virtually no economic effect. It's not a very complex issue, or one I'm particularly well versed in, but I will always the durability and lower production of coins as opposed to the the practicality of bills.
What kind of cold bastard would wast delicious minerals on the operation of a monetary system? Also the ability to quickly introduce mass-produced and inexpensive currency into the monetary flow has become a vital part of the global economy. Coins aren't exactly practical unless you're some backwards obscure country.
Paper money is just printed, were's coins were made out of copper or gold whatever. I like the legacy of the good old coins, but having a tower of paper money makes you look badass.
If we switch to coins it will literally cripple the erotic dancing industry, putting thousands of hard working women out of work.
And I was planning to make a strip club where the strippers have change belts on, I guess that plan is done for.
That's wrong, we could still throw coins at them! And don't they get paid by their employers anyway? PS. Paper money FTW.
I don't have to be aggressive about it. Besides, they could collect them coins into a machines, that shower them coins on pretty lady, when full.
It's all about the Benjamin's: [spoiler:39zd3t09][/spoiler:39zd3t09] Or maybe the Wilson's: [spoiler:39zd3t09][/spoiler:39zd3t09]
