But should it be forced or required in public schools, in Private schools there is nothing wrong with prayer in school.

prayer should be kept to ones self, I was almost converted by a friend, he was a athiest, he always harrased me when i had to go to church, and he always threw facts and Hypothesis at me, he finally stopped when i told him I dont care about religion and I just do what i have to do.

When kept no one self, there's nothing wrong with prayer. I have this guy in my classes who always prays in our weekly lunch presentations. By all means, go ahead. However, I don't think public schools are, or should be allowed to schedule in prayer, and especially not make it mandatory. Either have people keep it to themselves, or have full religious freedom and remain silent during every single prayer of every single religion.

As long as it isn't forced, it's cool. Actually, some of the more theistic kids in my high school got together and prayed a couple of times before school. They were outside by the US flag and one of them was reading from the Bible on his knees rocking back and forth. I thought it was hilarious because technically that could be seen as blasphemous to be praying to an US flag as a symbol of God.

Do it if you want, but don't start yelling or anything like that when I'm close, or I'll get annoyed and throw facts in your face.

I'm in a private school now ran by a protestant/luthernatian community or whatever and I don't see the point of mandatory praying before EVERY of our first class and after the last.I think it's pointless to ask god to help you with learning (Which we do).But as of doing it in a public national school it's discriminating any other religion.

Not sure about other places but here in Australia we have mostly government funded schools and a minority of independent schools, like in the United Kingdom. Also like the UK, the independent schools do much better on average, due to a combination of better facilities/teachers and the exorbitantly high fees. Government schools are not allowed to force religion but have the option of teaching religion and providing prayer facilities, though most don't. With independent aka private schools, they can do whatever they want. Most don't force it but many do. There are hundreds of schools in my state that force religion to varying degrees, such as prayer once daily and not teach stuff like evolution. There are several dozen that go so far as to even structure the entire curriculum around the religion, and incorporate the religion in the school's name, motto and flag. It's not my place to judge and besides, they almost always make it very clear when you enroll in those schools.

Another thing I've noticed though is that girls from same-sex independent religious schools are almost always really hot and desperate for guys :D, their indoctrination doesn't seem to work very well because I know plenty that commit, shall we say, "sinful" acts.

I'm sensing that the majority feeling here is that having religious services in private schools is alright, but should not take place in public schools. Unfortunately some places here in Canada have disregarded that idea entirely. As a certain school has caused some controversy by letting Muslim students pray in the cafeteria during school time. But any other religion praying at this school is not allowed.

If I'm correct, there's also a verse that stating you shouldn't pray in public.
