Age is merely a general indacader, you can be more educated on something and younger, age and education is a direct relationship, but not a absolute one.

He didn't say it was specific to teenagers, just that you're following the trendy thing to do. Also, you're being affected by the people you hang around all day, not just at school. You go to a site called josefvstalin.com. There are going to be a disproportionate amount of socialists and communists. When all the forum has to represent capitalism is a dickish grammar nazi, a pot head, and a libertarian who rarely posts (hey, that's me!) than you're probably going to try to conform to the leftists.

I think that was more based at Kali who uses age a lot more than you. In fact, I can't remember you ever using age as much as just saying socialism is the "popular thing". Kali is the one that claims all socialists are a bunch of teenagers swept along in the "dirty red tide" that he seems convinced is sweeping the nations youth.
I'm not around here quite enough to make me conform, as I'm probably never going to meet any of you in my life, I don't need to conform. While the forums have introduced me to different types of socialism and communism, they have also introduced me to different capitalist ideologies too. And I don't think there are that many socialists on the forums anyways, most of the forum goers are moderates and fairly open to new ideologies. And you forgot Sly, he likes to consider himself in the capitalist faction :p

Just asking, I'm the only moderate leftist here? On topic now, guys you are young, begin to worry about politics when you have the age to vote and to actively participate. Meanwhile hang out with friends, enjoy life and all that good stuff.

No, I don't think you're the only moderate leftist here. Also, well technically you can actively participate at any age, you can go to rallies, etc.
Also, am I the only one here that thinks once you reach the age to drive a car and have a full time job, you should be able to vote (ages 16-17 in my state). Note I said once your reach the age so you can, its not a requirement to already have the drivers license or a stable job. I just think that if the government deems you responsible enough to drive a car and work for a living, then you are probably responsible enough to vote.

If you really wanna believe that state socialism is entirely compatible with concepts like elected government and globalization. Go for it.

Not what I meant by "cool" at all. Chill the fuck out.

I never said socialism was a teenage trend thing. I know full well that it isn't. Again: Slow down bro.

Mosh that is the exact opposite of the point I was trying to get across. we need to focus on changing the system by actively taking part in it, not by being a bunch of social outcasts who never contribute everything and like to moan and bitch about how the system is so unfair . Lenin.

Of course, but if you want to join a party you have to be 18 (at least here works that way), so you can start "shaking the status quo".

    I agree.

Ageism is a legitimate prejudice. Younger people have spent less time on this planet, and have had considerably less time to think about things. They've had less formal (as well as informal, for that matter) education. As well, teenagers and children are physically and mentally underdeveloped.

    @General Mosh
There's likely not a single thought about socialism that you've had that I haven't already considered myself or encountered elsewhere. Your idealism is physically sickening and mentally irritating. You attach an inordinate amount of value to your ideological label, and openly reject independent thought in favor of conformity.

I won't lie, I discriminate on the basis on age more than I should. That being said, you're 19. Anybody older than 30 would probably facepalm, or laugh at you attempting to discredit somebody 3 years younger than you, based on age.

I'm of the opinion that the younger you get attached to an ideology, the more fucked you are.

He's turning 16 this year, at which time it will be 3 years. I was narrowing down the gap, as so to speak. Also, that is real 'Kali-Like' of you. Ignore the entire argument, and focus on one little 'Error' a person makes, in order to try an discredit them.

    Address my point.

I've been attending college in pursuit of a political science degree for two years now. The relative level of experience and education involved in the transition from high school to college is dramatic. The difference between a 15 year old and a 19 year old is much more significant than the difference between a 19 year old and a 23 year old or a 23 year old and a 27 year old. In any case, my point wasn't that I specifically was so far above him, but that he's displaying a high school mindset and is incredibly juvenile.
