What exactly is his point? That verbal abuse isn't as bad as physical abuse? Yup, that's pretty obvious, but he omits a lot of facts such as the fact that a lot of verbally abusive relationships end up being physically abusive when a partner makes a stand. Besides, there shouldn't be a contest to see who is the "biggest victim." How petty. If you make a good point with false logic, you might as well have made no point all.

His point is the double standard of how if a man hits a woman or verbally "attacks" her he goes to jail, if a woman hits a dude and verbally attacks a man nobody gives a shit.

Oh noez, teh poor mhenz are being oppressed...

I didn't watch the video since I hate TJ but the thing is, women don't beat the shit out of men that often and when they do they face the same consequences.
As for verbal abuse, tell me how often do you face street harassment in your day to day life compared to any woman you know? Now tell me how many men actually face any consequences for street harassment?
If you try to go to court there's a very high chance nothing will happen or worse, they'll question what the victim was wearing or some other bullshit.

The double standard exists because when a man hits a woman, it usually hurts. On the other hand, when a woman hits a man, the only thing hurt (usually) is his pride. Men and women should be treated equally in society but men and women obviously don't have equal strengths (and weaknesses) as they are different sexes (i.e. different). Besides, where are all these cases of men being abused you are talking about? Why don't they just leave? Are they stupid?

I think I just have a hard time sympathizing with anyone in an abusive relationship. By letting the violence continue, you are setting the precedent of it being okay. Don't parents teach their kids from a young age to not be a victim? I know mine did...
