Um... I could be mistaken, but I believe that the Americans have something called a Social Security Number. I am under the impression that this could possibly function to the U.S. what the OHIP is to Canada.

But I have probably misinterpreted or overlooked something.

Terrible, terrible. So igniting open rebellion and threatening war with Mexico as well as causing a massive rift in the American public psyche and political sphere is your answer? The U.S. would lose all credibility both at home and abroad if they resorted to such drastic and insane measures.

I can't speak for what killing NAFTA will do, but I can guarentee you that their ideas will not go away. In fact, they may gain sympathy support.
SURE. Bring back the soldiers from killing foreigners to kill people on their own soil. That will end well. Not to mention that the U.S. Military is not supposed to operate inside of the country. That is the job of the F.B.I. and the National Guard.
The War on Drugs is largely the U.S.'s doing. They have a responcibility to either see it through, or help others out of it.
Mexico is the U.S.'s ally. It is the in the top 3 trading partners with the U.S. It recieves and sends massive amount of culture. It is militarily just across the border. So politically, economically, culturally, and militarily, the U.S. and Mexico are joined. Abandoning them would be one of the worst things that the U.S. could do.

Yes, which is required to work (legally) but not for healthcare. Basic health care in the US is everyone is granted the right to emergency medical care but beyond that you need insurance or to be a US citizen to qualify for our social welfare programs.

Which would bring the subject full circle back to the debate on the illicitness of the immigration, no? Its a vicious circle, from what I understand.

"In here we will discuss the American Border problem."

Would the better title be American Border? This topic is extremely misleading...

Why would that be a better title?

    @ Pedro
Still don't remember. Probably won't remember at this point, so don't hold your breath. LOL.

Here you are talking about the US border, but how can I know that from the title? I could easily mistake this border that we are talking about as Finnish border or borders in general.
