Have you been living under a rock? All the satelite photos, the fact that they cleaned up sites U.N. Inspectors were going to go to, that they hide refused inspectors in the first place, et cetera.

No it doesn't. Actually it sounds like they're making the bomb. Actually it's pretty obvious they're making the bomb. Fuck, you'd have to be the most gullible person ever to believe they're not making a bomb.

Regardless, no one seems to accept the fact that the doctrine of mutual assured destruction is the ultimate deterrent to any sort of nuclear attack.

You're right, history does repeat itself. Our democratic leaders failed us in Iraq and now they're failing us in Iran.

We know how to stop them the problem is that Democracy has created nations so weak they wont even stop someone who literally swore he wants to kill hundreds of millions of people from getting a WMD. It's simple, toss aside the UN bullshit and bomb the facilities into the ground. You get some bad press, what fucking ever. At least Jerusalem isn't nuked.

Now we are gearing up for a war with Iran for possibly false pretenses of nuclear arms.

I dont think that Iran having a nuke would lead it to glassing the whole middle-east.

If anything, Obama is trying to do the opposite. He is trying to hold back the Israeli's from launching any strike. Also, why are you automatically assuming its false? Bush had a vendetta against Hussein and wanted to finish what his father started. Obama doens't have that kind of personal vendetta against the Persians.

Obama is trying to do the opposite, while preparing for the worst. And, lets face it. Its Israel and Iran's decision if we go to war. Not ours. We are obligated to support Israel, because that won't be a quick week long war.

This, that's like nuking Mecca or Medina to take over Saudi Arabia.

I think what I was going to say has already been said. Anyway, Iran is getting WMDs , and they shouldn't be allowed to, just to put my opinion out there, because my opinion matters that much.

Firstly we're not gearing up for a war in the slightest. Obama's not much of an iron fist in Diplomacy. Sanctions and maybe an airstrike are the farthest we'll go in the open. Maybe some convert operations (like killing scientists) though.

Secondly, only a slim, slim minority actually want an invasion of Iran. Slim minority meaning stupid asses like Newt Gingrich. Pro-action people tend to merely advocate airstrikes which by no means "gearing up for war" like we did with Iraq. This is a completely different response.

No but giving a bomb that can kill millions upon millions of people to a bunch of religious fanatics can't be a very good idea.

They're not going to bomb anyone because of religion. It's even crazy to suggest they'd bomb anyone for any other reason than self-defense.

Nuclear weapons we gave Israel, I'll remind everyone. So, in a way, we are an indirect cause of Iran's nuclear program. Of course they want the bomb! They want it for the same reason everyone else wants it! Protection! All that talk of wiping Israel off the map, is just that, talk. I do not believe they would ever preemptively strike Israel with nuclear warheads.
