Honourable mentions: Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II (OH GOD EA WHY DID YOU PUT IN FUCKING SPIDER RIDERS), Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, GTA Series. 10 - Star Wars Battlefront II, I love the universe, and with a very good mod this game becomes a very good single player shooter. It's a shame it's so easy, but that doesn't really matter too much. 9 -Civilization III, my favourite one of the series, with IV being a very close second. Very enjoyable, although it's a shame a strong country will never fail. Still, it has some very good scenarios as well. 8 - Assassin's Creed, while I've only played two, and a little bit of the first one, I really enjoyed them. I did have a few small issues with the level design, but I think that's just me being picky. If you want to know how picky, look up Ed Byrne talking about Back to the Future. Still, the story is a mindfuck, but still very enjoyable. 7 - Rome: Total War, the variety in the units and factions is just so good, that's something I really missed in Empire and Napoleon. Not to mention France being a single province in Empire. I almost cried when I saw that. 6 - Mount and Blade, love the game, great combat system, amazing modding community, and just great fun. 5 - The Mass Effect series, great story, great gameplay, and I just love how your decisions don't just affect the game itself, it also affects the sequels. 4 - RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 & 2, oh man, such amazing games, I've spent SO much time on these games when I was a kid, and I still do from time to time. 3 - Fallout: New Vegas, I usually wait a while for playing through an RPG a second time, but with this game, I just couldn't wait. The backstory is also probably the best in any game I've ever played, and has the most interesting universe. 2 -EU3, it's deep, complex, and so very satisfying. 1 - The Pokemon series, without a doubt. God I love those games.
