    My point still stands.
For instance: I personally have a different view on how modship should be appointed, but there is now way in hell I'm gonna start up a thread about, because I know exactly what will happen.

3-4 Mod will state that my system is unnecessary, that handful of people who thinks its "Trendy" and "kool" to agree with said mods and shoot down anything that might be considered change will do what they do, the thread will be locked because of them, all future suggestion made by me will be written off as "He's just being Demon...".

How mods are appointed is not up for discussion, that is up to Stalin and Stalin only. Though no, we wouldn't just write off every suggestion from you especially not if they were decent.

If the climate of apathy/fear towards affecting change exists, and I have said before that I think it does, then the way to go about fixing it isn't to keep silent.

I refuse to say anything further on the subject.

I value my status of being taken somewhat seriously.

DD, people like Kara ruined their ability to be taken seriously in other ways. You are a respectable member of this forum. That is all.

No, I've been taken too seriously and I got Sly practically hunting for posts to criticize sometimes. Anyway, the mods must truly be terrible if they're basing how seriously to take a request on Political views.

Don't make us all out to be terrible based on what Chelsea said, although she does have a point

This. I don't like the atmosphere that lingers here either. I can be a little harsh sometimes, but I will repost what I had in the other thread, because I think it holds true.

If you guys planned out your proposals better and worked together, I think the tribunes would take more notice, and it would do a lot to prevent bad proposals from coming through. And it is us dealing with the bad proposals that creates the negative atmosphere.

actually if we can have petition buttons why not add private threads and month-pay subscriptions. the mods lock threads for a reason, guys. if anything unlocks a thread it should only be in cases where the majority of the mods agree that the thread did not have a valid reason to be locked. otherwise we would have totally inappropriate threads being opened that the mods can't effectively lock. then before we know it people are posting child porn on the site.

all in all, if you don't want the thread to be locked, don't break the rules.

if anyone other than the mods has this sort of power it should be Stalin and Stalin only.

How did you get from unlocking a few People's Assembly threads to Child Porn? Your fears are ridiculous. Why don't we just hand ourselves ocer to Fascism if authority will always be right?

Well tere, they couldn't and wouldn't have a problem with us dealing with child porn threads. No one would have a problem with us doing that or anything like it. So yeah. I doubt anyone asking for less thread locks would ever go that far, not that they could.

The People themselves are fine. Almost every reasonable idea has come from us. The problem is I post something on a whim and you immedietly decide that's the exactly wording of a massive legislation to change the World and take it to the Mod Thread for judgement. Of course the Mod thread seems to just be you guys telling eachother why the suggestion is bad for 5 minutes before locking the idea before it can even bloom.

Things that you didn't immedietly jump to conclusions on, like the nerfing of the Banned People Can't Run rule, have become ideas that, as my Tribunes tell me, are "ready to be passed".

It's quantity over quality, but in the words of irl Stalin, "Quantity is a Quality all its own."

well im talking about that because if this petition is anonymous (and people would want it to be), how would you know which votes aren't a bunch of bots and sickos posting inappropriate content on the website and keeping voting it to be unlocked? because if a huge amount of people vote for it then the mods will get criticized for not unlocking it. im not talking about porn, what if someone gets a bunch of jerks and they all spam and post stupid and offensive propaganda? i imagine people saying "but just ban them", but matt stated before, people can create accounts faster than they can effectively ban them.

i think the rules are ok for now, but if something has to be done to the forums, the mods need to have the freedom to do it.

and if we put more power in the hands of spammers then why don't we add team fortress-esque modifiers that allow you to have a bigger sig but limits your post count per day?

Ok, i would tend to agree with popular opinion on thread locking but also have one minute thing to add: instead of just auto locking because our little group that we have likes to derail shit(not naming names in effort to prevent shitstorm) couldnt mods just delete the posts that are blatant attempts to derail?
