Ok, I understand this has become sort of an issue with the community recently because some people just post videos as topic starters without showing any question for the thread to present itself. This mostly applies to the Coffee House section of the forums by the way. I'm here to propose that if topics have a video without text before or after it introducing the topic or presenting a question (OR if the video itself presents a question for the discussion,) the thread should be locked. The reason why I've made up this plan is because I've seen too many posts that just have a video having bias about a modern issue and the thread just becomes a discussion of the bias presented in the video, and nothing productive ever comes out of those threads. Remember, I did say this is more of a problem in the Coffee House section of the forums, so maybe this may only apply to the Coffee House.
NOTE: If the video does present bias but also presents a question, then that is fine.
    NOTE: News videos are fine.
NOTE: Vote yes if agree. Vote no if disagree.
EDIT: This only applies to starting a topic, anything else may show bias.

    Poll Above.

I personally think this is a good idea, I hate to try to understand what some of the topics are saying if people put only vids in it.

Exactly, If you want to show a particular view point in your thread, Present a question then add a couple different bias videos.

Are you saying we make it against the rules to be biased/ not clear in your intent? That's fucking stupid.

Not being bias, just not being clear in the intent.

So, we should ban poorly constructed posts?

It's not that it's annoying, it's that when people quote the video is when it becomes annoying.

No, I'm saying that it's stupid just posting a video without any direction at all. For Example, If I posted a TAA video as a thread, nothing else. What would happen, it would just be about the video which isn't a Current Event!

Yeah, I guess if they aren't going to day anything else, they should at least stick it in off topic.

Yah Off Topic would be fine. Like I said, this mostly applies to the Coffee House section of the forums.

    That's perfectly reasonable.

Well, we have the posting guidelines that were typed up before even the site rules were drafted, but they're not binding. I'm kind of on board with this, al though it sounds kind of restrictive to lock or move a thread based on the OP being bad at thread making

Moving the thread seems more reasonable, I agree.

Well I'd encourage you guys to work out the kinks to what you'd like to see and then have one of the Tribunes bring it up to us. I've been away all weekend, but if I recall there isn't too much going on over on our side of the forums

Yah it's not too much of a big deal, it's just something that whenever I see I get annoyed by and I think that some people are getting annoyed as well.

Rarely does anyone do this and even then its not that bad. It's a problem that doesn't exist, like those people who say that pregnant "immigrants" come to the states to have a child so they can get citizenship. I'm sure someone does that, but hardly anyone does. It's not a problem so much as a nussense and we can't waste time on nussenses.

Time we could be spending working on the NKVD, for instance.

Neither Stalin, nor the mods are really all that involved with the NKVD and there's surely enough of us to deliberate this issue

Exactly, besides, we do need to see what the forum thinks for this issue since this thread has only been up for a couple hours.
