If you haven't already please watch the video on the homepage else you will not know what this is on about.

Hello guys, in order for you to better understand the possible update as well as have any questions answered I have created this topic. Basically post any concerns or comments below, if it's something I can respond to I will do so in this main post. I will keep this global for a few days just so people can see it before moving it to the peoples assembly.

    What will be imported

All users, posts, post counts, private messages etc will be imported.

    What won't be imported

Passwords will be lost in the transition however, changing your password is as easy as recovering your password. I will be on hand to deal with any account issues after the update. Avatars will also have to be reuploaded.

how long will the update take?
The forums will go down for up to a day, all video content will be viewable on Stalin's blip.tv page.

    Will there be mobile support?

There are still plans for mobile support. The trouble is that Blip.tv is severely lacking in it's mobile video support. The forum wont be any worse to browse on your phone than it currently is in any case and in theory a mobile theme will come along in the future.

    When will this be implimented

At the moment I am trying to gauge reactions to the update and see if it has popular support, the software is not free and I am in talks with Stalin over whether this is something we should press forward with. Your comments matter.

I'll need a new avatar! Other than that, what do you mean that passwords will be lost?

You must recover your password as your current password will not be copied.

Mainly it's to do with the inadequacies of phpbb3, I believe. Also forum achievements.

Yes, it would probably help speed it up a lot. We could set up some donation thing I think. I don't think we have the money to do it yet, last we talked about it we did not and donations from users came up but I will let Uni answer this too to make sure.
