If this is the peoples assembly, then i have the right to voice my opinoins.

The moderators should be voted in. The moderators should now have to run for their extreme positions of power. Yes, the mods now were founding members of our little community, but as George Washington did, they need to step down and open opportunities. I find it unfair that they get to make almost all the decisions with little to stop them. I have compiled a list of changes that should be seen to.

    It should go as followed:

    1. Every month, 7 new moderators should be voted in. these moderators will vote amongst themselves on larger actions, such as banning and point giving.

    2. They may only lock threads or remove posts by themselves. The changing of signatures or avatars should only be changed if the given person has a threatening or demeaning sig or avatar. The moders will have the decision on whether the Sig or avater are demeaning enough for change.

    3. In extreme cases in which moderators are participating in Trolling, demeaning quotes or other such actions stated above, then the other 6 will vote on their demoting as a moderator. If these six come to no conclusion, then the ultimate decision will go to Stalin, and his say will be final.

4.previous moderators can only be revoted in 2 more times, and if they are voted in three times, they are never again allowed to be voted in, they will, though, be given the title of "Ex-moder", and there name will be changed to pink. these people will be like our senate, and vote on new rules along with current moders.

This Thread is to not make the current moders upset or show my disrespect towards them, but i fell some people do not like the way things are going about and getting done.

It's time for a change of pace and power.

ES IST ZEIT FÜR DEN WANDEL!!!!!! (it is time for change)

WTH? I agree with you on the point that we should hold a vote on who would be moderator. But that's it. Just ONE vote. Once your voted in as moderator your a moderator until you want to resign (if ever). You do realize that this system you are creating would eventually make everybody a moderator over time, so the idea of giving ex-mods pink names and putting them in the "senate" would be terrible because the senate would just get larger and larger and larger.

There is so much wrong with this so I'm just going to say this will never ever pass. Stalin would never agree to this (he's already said the mods are permanent when he made this, unless he feels they have abused power) nor would any of the mods. So argue for it if you want, but threads like this are a waste of time as they wont happen. Also Co is right, the Tribunes are your voted in mods.

dude if you want this you're not getting it. it would be just as effective and useful if we increased the number of tribunes.

... This sounds like a cry of, "I'm not tribune but I want power". If we had more too, nothing would get done, because the mods will still vote as well...

And I enjoy every second of it. Also, if it was in the Coffeehouse, you should expect to be demeaned and attacked. It's called debate.

I will repost this here, so more can see it.

No, we were chosen because Stalin trusts us to run his site on his behalf, it is a different relationship then that on a tribune.
We're moderators it is our job to moderate the forums. That does include locking threads and deleting mostly one word posts in the coffee house. That is our policy for signature removal unless it's too big and they refuse to change it.
Nope, as members of this site we deserve the same rights as you. Limiting us to the same pattern of politically correct posts is not fair.
That would eventually include the entire site and is a null point to me considering my position on #1
If by some people you mean 4 than yes but they do not hold absolute sway over the site.

And that's why you're one of my fav mods.

Also this idea is really never going to work because we have tribunes now, they're just like the mods, only that we can vote who can be one.

Moderators will not be left to vote Stalin chooses his mods and if extreme circumstances to demote them. You also already have tribunes.

If Tribunes are basically Mods, except voted in, then why do we still have mods?

Moderators are users promoted to mod status by the admin after having shown that they can be trusted, they are to permanently help run this site unless they prove to have abused their powers. Tribunes are users granted mod powers to help deal with the PA, prove there is no corruption by having access to the mods corner and relay the wishes of the people to the mods. They are user elected and may not have the trust of the admin or be mod material.

You need permant mods so that a tribune cannot drastically change the rules. See it like a three ring circus...
