A Public Service Announcement

Ok, make sure you're ready to listen. Turn off the videos, turn off the music, and put on your good reading glasses, because I have the solution to all your troubles. There are a lot of things in this forum that you probably don't like, such as Napoleon making a new account every fortnight, Kara's shitty threads filled with all his terrible ideas, and idiots making posts not worth the server space they're stored on.

Lucky for you, friends, I have a solution. You see, every user has a vote that can be used to influence a thread. It is the act of posting. Even if you hate a thread, and want to tell someone about it, you must retain self control, as in posting in said thread, you are validating it. I don't mean to avoid a legitimate debate with someone you disagree with, but some lame shit, or troll post will be totally harmless if it is ignored by the community. For example, Lenins Beard recently made a second account and proceeded to make a stupid thread with his poor attempts are trolling. The majority of people posted something like this.

Now, as you can possible imagine, this did not have the desired effect. It only prompted more people to jump on the posting bandwagon, and what should have been a massive failure from Beard became a small scale shitstorm. Remember, it is not trolls who have the power to do this, it is the people who respond to them.

However, this principle applies to more than just trolls. Perhaps the best example is our most controversial figure, CheFlegal. He could have been some crazy guy that no one ever listened to, but instead became the most influential member in the early history of the forums, simply because people gave him the attention he craved.

So, in conclusion, the only thing you have to do to increase the quality of posts on the forum is to have a bit of self control. Respond to good posts. People who make posts of poor quality will post less when they are completely ignored.

No, I read it, but it doesn't stop him from clogging up space with useless posts. My point is that he's pretty much spamming, so he needs to cut it out. The first part was just my personal opinion, which I tossed in for shits and giggles.
