The Nintendo 3DS is promising real 3D without the use of extra accessories using a process called "autostereoscopy." Nintendo has been losing its iron grip on the portable market recently simply due to so many challengers to the portable crown, including the powerful PSP systems and the easily accessible iPhone with a huge library of gaming apps. The 3DS is making big promises and with it a big price tag of $250 dollars. With the mobile app market continuing to grow and the PSP2 just over the horizon, is the 3DS Nintendo's "make or break" system that will decide who rules the portable market? Also, do you personally believe it will: Be a success story on par with the Wii? [/*:m:njac4rw1] Another gigantic failure in introducing 3D technology to the portable world just like Nintendo's previous attempt, the Virtual Boy? well the 3ds is more powerfull than the wii, it has a huge range of games (one of the best imo), but a 4 hour battery life!?
It aleast puts strains on your eyes, if anything from watching a 3D TV for around 6 hours in my expermit.
I used to work for Comet ltd. and 3DTV's were a big seller over Christmas but whenever I looked at them with the glasses on for more than 5 minutes I got a migrane and felt sick. I went on a Sony day roadshow while working with them and asked them about the health issues, they say its too early to tell, but in private one of the spokespersons told me that they way it works is by 2 overlayed imagages slightly offset from each other and the glasses make your eyes do the opposite of going cross eyed whilst flickering at 60 times a second giving the impression of a 3d image. The pupils go to the ouside corners of your eyes and can make you feel ill, but they don't know how this will affect eyesight conditionsor any neurological functions yet. I can only speak for myself and it made me never wanna watch one again.
Don't plan on buying one until the price drops or have to buy one to plan the games I want. I still feel a little gouged with the DSi I have, but knowing that I need one to play the new pokemon games coming out helps my wallet hurt less.
May get a 3DS when the price drops, looks kinda fun but it's a bit too expensive. Nevermind it's not that expensive at all. Hmm perhaps I should get one?
Of course it's not gonna fail. Nintendo has reached Apple status; they can put out whatever they want, whenever they want.
Only for their handhelds, the Wii can only be (universally) liked because of it's capacity to play old games that are really hard to find (legally).
Does anyone know if the 3DS's web browser lets us watch Youtube vids, because I really want to see this in 3-D. (You have to go on Youtube, I think when I embedded it messed up somehow) [yt:1408nhkg]0U0ZDjnQiXQ[/yt:1408nhkg] Also apparently Youtube has 3-d vids now.
