Okay, i've been playing battlefield 3 for about 3 days now and i've beaten the single player and gotten to rank 15 online so i'll post my own little mini review of battlefield 3

    The single players:
Short: it's pretty good for what it is.

Long: it's fun and for an FPS single player it rates about a 4.5 out of 5. it had good set pieces with an ok short that had almost no plot holes and kept the action high and flowing. it's hard but not to hard and can be beaten in about 5-6 hours and that's good for something that's not really the main focus of the game as a whole.

all and all the single player is pretty good with a few missed steps

    Online play:
Short: feels great, plays great. play it now

Long: the online does a great job of mixing in new and old from the other battlefield games. it brings back the Vehicle combat of BF2 while still holding the on foot gun-play that the Bad company games refined. all the elements work very well and the maps are scaled perfectly for the lower player count on the 360 and ps3. again all i have to say is get it, it's fun and has unlocks and ranks for last for a long time to come.

the only problem i have is they toned down the destruction too much.

also it is impossible to be useful to your team when you first get a jet.

I bought it yesterday so I'll be playing it next week. I've heard some bad reviews about the singleplayer, with many saying it's too short, too linear and too focused on set pieces so the gunplay suffers. On the other hand I bought it for the multiplayer.

The single player was plain boring for me. Every bit as scripted and linear as call of duty, but with none of the wow factor or craziness once you get over the graphics.
That said, the multiplayer was just freaking fantastic. Probably some of the best fun I've ever had in a game. The mechanics are perfect, the weapons are superbly balanced ( though I don't think you should have 4 RPGs when you spawn), the vehicles are awesome and the combat is intense. Highly recommended if you like multiplayer FPSs, but skip the single player.

As annoying as it is, The RPG is just a little grenade thinger. It makes sense to have a launcher and 3-5 of the grenades, as IRL they carry quite a few

I only wished they made it so that if you carried heavy equipment you'd run/walk slower.

I played the campaign on hard. It's kind of like call of duty campaigns, it's not hard but bull shit happens like random grenades and some rocks that have an invisible shield around them.

Anyhow from the gameplay I have seen so far I give it a 8/10 and might buy after I get a PS3

I was just fucking around in TDM and got first place everysingle time why because of cod noobs camping in corners. Here is the problem for them, in battlefield we always check corners.

I like it, seems like the helicopters are way underpowered when it comes to flares, Jets CANT be shot down due to mass flares so it seems fair for the helis to have the same chances of not getting rockets spammed up their asses....wrong i take off..beeeeeep beeeeeeeep beeeeeeep....BOOM choper down...AGAIN and i have flairs, misseles and others but...you get the point....
