the battle of thermopylae, estimated total casualties 22.300 - 22.500.

so a small army of 300 spartans killed about 22.000 persians, now that is an epic fail on the persian side

You think the Visigoths did it all. You are wrong. The slaves revolted and OUTNUMBERED the "Barbarians".

WTF. The slaves revolting had absolutely nothing to do with the fall of the Western Roman Empire. The last major slave rebellion I believe was Spartacus. That was over 400 years BEFORE the fall of the western roman empire. The western roman empire fell due to corruption, overextending itself, debt, and their army being filled up with barbarians. The Visigoths and other barbarian tribes flooding into their territory nailed the coffin shut.I assure you that the fall of the Western Roman Empire had absolutely nothing to do with slavery.

THE EMPIERE FELL DUE TO ALL THE THINGS YOU MENTIONED except for the fact you FORGOT SLAVES. THEY OUTNUMBERED THE VISIGOTHS. By the way Rome never fell UNTIL the Renaissance. You know why because the artists/sculptors took apart the buildings made by Rome

the fall of the roman empire had more to do with the church and the huns then it did with slavery. If anything slavery was more a situation in the republic then in the empire.

You realise that the fall of the Republic and Empire are extremely similar. Rome would have easily defeated the "Barbarians" had there not been "Civil Wars" in Italy. Most of the invading armies had more slaves then there actual army. Slavery caused most destruction of the Western Roman Empire.

Nowhere in that article did it say that slaves played any part in the fall of the Western Roman Empire. When the problems from within they mean corruption and poor leadership as well as conversion of faith.

    I got the wrong website.

You need to figure out that problems within mean bad leadership, corruption, AND SLAVERY. Rome had a good enough military to keep surviving today. With modern day advances also.

Their military was pretty bad towards the end of the empire considering the ranks were filled with Germans and they had incompetent leaders. I would like to see another credible source that tells us slavery was a major factor in the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Even this sight mentions that the sacking of Rome (which btw was the only time they mentioned slaves having anything to do with the fall of the empire) was not as catastrophic as it was made out to be.
