Prussia came from the Teutonic Order
England came from the remains of Rome
Russia came from Muscovy and other states
    US came from England

The only nation on that list that sprung from nothing is Israel

I don't think its fair to say England came from the remnants of war. It probably came from Normandy instead.

you're right about Prussia with the teutonic order but they weren't even close to a super power till much later
and they rose to prominence surrounded by super powers Holy Roman Empire Sweden Austria Russia Poland
The remenants of the Brandenburg family after the teutonic order weren't very powerful except for their elector position in the Holy Roman Empire

Russia was a whole other story it took both Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, and Stalin to reform the crap out of Russia for it too become an actual player.

United States for instance it took us a century for us to catch up to the Europeans industrially and militarily

In the Medieval Era the teutonic was powerful just as Rome was a super power in the Classical era
The Teutonic Order fell to the The Prussian Confederation during the 13 years war as a result of their decline in the mid 1400s. No would have guessed this Prussian confederation would have become a world player

I was, because it was supported with knights and stuff from other European Catholic countries. Not only that, but the Teutonic Order at the time was actually considered a crusader state, which it was. Except, instead of crusading against Muslims in the holy land, it was crusading against Pagans in Lithuania.
