I've recently got this fun RTS game, really hard at the start but once the snowball goes down the hill you start to curve stomp everyone in your path. Just wondering if anyone else plays this and would maybe play some multiplayer?
I'd play it, but it has alot of technical problems. Not with the game itself, but there are some [quite a few actually] systems/programs that it simply does not run well with and is prone to crashing when put in tandem with them. Otherwise, the game is great, if somewhat frustrating. There is not the amount of balence between offence and defense that you would like to see. Even with the DLC that adds additional defensive options, defense in the face of a large invasion force is almost impossible. And with the maps growing so large it is nearly impossible to ensure a comprehensive defense everywhere, especially with the low population cap. In the later game this comes back to bite players alot. The combat is good, but the lack of 3-D fighting [in a space setting no less] is a complaint. The imbalence of the superweapons of the factions is also something that makes the game less fun to play. But overal, the game is awesome and I would advise people to play it and hope that they will make a sequel.
Imperal the coming out with Sins of a Solar empire Rebellion, and with the Offense and defense you fight but the only thing that could stop it alot would be having better armor and better lasers. I always play with one or two ai allies to help back me up. Also Imperal, would you be interested in playing some Player vs Ai online play?
Nope. My current computer can support it, but the system that I use has issues with it, so the game would crash a ton. Sorry. In one of my games, every time I attacked, during transit the enemy would launch their fleet against the planet that I moved from because their fleet could not fight mine. And even if I went back, the ******* AI programing would cause them to scatter to the other planets in my empire, small enough to be a pain to track down, but big enough to be a threat, even though I upgraded all my planets with defenses.
This game is pretty sweet I have to say. Anyone know if the expansions are any good? I bought this when it came out and played the hell out of it but then sort of forgot about it.
Got the game back in 08, still have great fun with it by playing with mods, right now the 7DS (7 deadly sins) mod on entrenchment, and @ Chairmanyang: yes the game is rather empty after playing the expantions, plus the amount of mods for the two add ons are large and add MASSIVE replay value.
