So apparently, the number of North-koreans with cell phones has tripled in the last 2 years, to 800'000 people. This supposedly according to some international telecom organization.

Also, according to this news article from 2009, North Koreans have computers/internet access (Also confirms that cellphones were legalized for the general population two years ago) - http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2009-05-22-korea-cellphone_N.htm

But they get their connection from China, so they don't have full access to the world.

That is the equal of saying that all the Chinese people are running to the West. You assume that they are not content with their lot.

Yes but actual cell service is only available through Chinese networks near the border this is the only way to also get internet access unless you feel like spending your entire annual income.
