Vikingrs - Barbarians or Civilized

Imagine a whole bunch of Viking Warriors with muskets when everyone else still uses bows and swords....

Imagine those viking warriors destroying mesoamerican civilizations with those guns...

I highly doubt that, once the other european powers learned of gun powder they would adopt it aswell

If a soldier, knight or whoever gets a viking gun and brings it to a bunch of smart guys... Then they'll may be able to fabricate those guns as well. And that's gonna 'cause some massacre...

If the Vikings are first to use gunpowder it follows that for a time they would be the MOST powerful nation/empire in Europe.

no they would'nt, the medieval version of guns are the slow to reload and very inaccurate so one has only have to do a cav charge in the gunners and thats that.

they would only become the most powerful nation in europe if they got cannons and such, but I highly doubt that they would use artillery as they did'nt use it before

It doesn't matter that that can happen because the Vikings tend to be light raiders against undefended people, meaning, no cavalry to attack them.

you don't seriously think that the lords of europe would'nt send out cav patrols who were searching for viking raiders?

besides to really conquer europe they had to take castles, and there are only two ways of doing it

1) siege it

2) send someone to open th gates foryou and your men

they can't do the second option all the time and laying a castle under siege would put them at risk for a counter attack

You people should stop creaming yourself over Vikings. They aren't all that exciting.

In any case, I've been to Up Helly Aa and it was pretty cool.
