Do you believe that games like Fortresscraft and Total Miner are just ripoffs of Minecraft or do you believe that these games are now just part of a new genre started by Minecraft?

    New genre? no.

new trend, yes, since Minecraft currently exists only as a PC version and console gamers have seen it on YouTube only, there have been reasons to purchase these Indie games on Xbox LIVE marketplace. Does the creation of these games, intentionally similar to Minecraft, mean they are a ripoff? no. Because Minecraft has made itself a PC only game possibly for the reason that it does not have the resources to actually contact Microsoft and Sony and develop the console version with them. The producer of Minecraft most likely contacted with the developers of Total Miner and Fortresscraft and had allowed them to produce their game, which is obviously very similar to the original.

I, for one, have bought and downloaded Total Miner, it's a pretty fun little thing, but not as expansive as Minecraft.

I've only dug 583 squares down, and have yet to uncover all of the blueprints.

I think It might of created a sub genre or a entirely new genre.

MineCraft announced for 360. These games are now obsolete.
