If I was from Pennsylvania, I would be jealous of not being able to legally smoke weed just before school, and still having drug problems in my country.
Hey look false stereotypes. I for one can speak of the french being of German background and the french are some very able fighters, there just assholes (sorry the french are assholes)
All stereotypes are false. You can't really say anything about the French just for being descended from Germans. Aren't you American?
Born outside out of usa, but pretty much lived in the united states for so long i would be classified as such. Also i never said all stereotypes are false, i only pointed out the notion that the french being snail eating surrender monkeys is false. I used the German as a way to add to make a point as most people (at least here in the united states) considers the Germans to have better military understanding then the French, and as such a German or someone of German blood defending the french has a lot of sway.
All stereotypes are false though. Don't expect to reinforce your defense by saying that you have a different background. It really doesn't prove anything.
Stereotypes have some some degree of truth tough most are just peoples twisted views of other cultures or people, however if you even bothered to pay attention i was refuting to the point that his stereotype of France being full of cowards and people who surrendered is in fact false. Using my German blood was nothing more then to make the point of "Germans should know more about fighting the french then the Americans because both cultures have been at war with each other on and off since before america was even a bloody country" so of cource a german giving consideration to the fighting abilty to the french is going to have sway in someones view points or at least have an impact on there view points.
No it doesn't. Stereotypes are generalizing absolutely everybody in the nationality. That is absurd. You can't claim that any stereotypes are true in that regard. You are American, you're basing your argument off of being a descendant of a German. Do you know how stupid that sounds? To quote the OP, "this is for jokes". I can, for example, make the stereotype that all Germans are always angry and serious all the time, but that's not true is it?
I believe a better way would be to "from resent historical and military events the french have shown them self's to not be the most brave of fighters and flee or even better from what i experienced many of such and such do such and such tough this may not to be the case with everyone in this region this seems to be the social norm of the country" however every single Stereotype has a reason or has at least some background as to why it formed, for examples alot of negative Frenchophob and Anglophobe stereotypes we get are from are from the times when the British and the French hated eatch other and as such used catogristics of what they shown as a way to dismantle the opposition or make them self's seem better; even so there has to be at least some truth to them or a background as to why or how it formed. As such another example would be the view point (at least in the united states) that buddah is a fat old Chinese man, which only formed because of the harshness the Chinese workers would placed under when they first introgated here and worked in the mines or made the united states trains, as such the Chinese population was at last forced to make the assumption of fat buddah to make the Americans happy. I am merely pointing out that all stereotype have at least some sort of background or some sort of historical sway and as such have some degree of truth. Next i would like to point out a mother fucking 3rd time "I disagree with his stereotype of the french people however i understand where hes coming from" well no not all Germans are angry and serious however there culture and the background of the country breeds and teaches them to be that way, while many Germans come across at least to outsiders as cold and devoid of all scene of joy, the German people are really quite the opposite there just cultural different and as such a stereotype is going to form (which my entire argument never been all stereotype are true, its been that stereotype have a background or a historical point which makes people view them as fact) and Finally. I WAS BORN IN POZNAN POLAND
In which case it's never true. You can't determine how a person acts just from nationality. It has a degree of truth to base the misconception off of, end of story. Of course you understand where he's coming from, that doesn't mean you have to get upset about it, reject it and write an essay trying to correct it. For example, all Poles are plumbers.
And we finally came to a synthesis and agree....finally. However i don't think the Pole one has any bases of historical background to have it form or making any sort of historical context, but i get your point.
If I was Tropican, I would love El Presidente until I would get shunned by him and become a rebel overthrow him and blow up his palace.
I am offended by the offensive behavior against... Whatever nationality happens to have offensive behavior against it.
I FOR ONE AM OFFENDED THAT YOU ARE OFFENDED AND DEMAND THIS ENTIRE TOPIC BE TAKEN DOWN AND EVERYONE IN IT KILLED, O.K MAYBE NOT KILLED.
If I was Mexican I would join the Army and try and work my way into special forces and become a general then when i am general I will retire into the world of Politics and try and fix up my country however I can, once I win support of the people the army and the senate the Drug Cartels will wallow in fear and my country will be stronger from within.
If I was American, I'd still consider myself English because one of my dead ancestors from 200 years ago was.
