It's a question of morality. If you could have killed hitler without all of that other stuff happening, would you.

You can't separate Hitler's history from the morality surrounding him. What he did has an impact both on the future and on whether or not he's crossed a moral line. Preserving the existence of the world that I live in is paramount, not exacting petty vengeance on a dead man.

Let's say you never lived in this time, yet inexplicably you existed in the year 1932. You supernaturally knew about the holocaust beforehand. Would you use this as a justification to kill hitler, to save the lives of millions, by killing him? Stop intentionally missing the point and answer with a straight yes or no.

If I were, right now, sent into the past with all the things I know now I would not kill Hitler, for the previously stated reasons.

If I didn't know about this time, then that person in 1932 wouldn't be me.

You know exactly what everybody is trying to say. This is not a realistic scenario. I have lost a great deal of respect for you. Just stop beating around the bush.

The only ethical argument one can make to justify Hitler's death is one that involves his actions as the leader of Germany. In other words, his history. If I have knowledge of his history then I have knowledge of my present. If I only had knowledge of his history and not my present, then that person in 1932 isn't actually me.

This isn't a serious question, you are not genuinely confused, you are just being an asshole.

The scenario is either logical and follows the constraints that make my previous responses adequate, or it's illogical. I'm not going to ponder the ethicality of an illogical scenario.

Depends on the year. If you killed him before he made those horrible mistakes, then quite possibly you might have just made Germany the winner of WWII.

No, I am a strong believer in that the current present is the best present.

No I would try to talk to Hitler and tell him that he has chosen a wrong path,in my opinion he did not fully understand what he was doing during WW2 ,everyone deserves to be forgiven my comrades!Respect your enemies.

I think there are far worse things to do to a man then to kill him.

Ya but given that Germany was an economic super-power, ie their economic policies were working, and if Hitler wasn't there they might not have had all the repression and hatred you saw with Hitler's National Socialist Party. It may have simply become a Socialist Party and done perfectly fine.

And then, even if they were agressive enough to "conquer Europe" they may have improved it to a degree.
