I'm sure you would find his comment offensive towards yourself, which would be subject to deletion without notice, wouldn't it? Unless of course, I point it out or something of that sort and somebody will notice if you did delete it.

Which one do you think is relevant? You do know that there's 85 of them and they take up about 300 pages or reading right? Anyone interested in American political philosophy should read them, but you should generally suggest a particular essay so the guy doesn't have to sift through hundreds of pages of information he isn't interested in.

As for the OP i pretty succinctly demonstrated how this isn't fascist and how the article has taken a multitude of liberties in order to scare teh internetz into a frenzy

The majority of the online petitions wind up being/getting troll'ed

Which one's.... I guess some of the one's specifically about the House and Senate (#'s 52, 53, 62-65). Or you could just read the Constitution.

Tis' the beauty of Israeli politics, my friend. Half the shit that comes out of it is either disgusting or makes no sense. I actually don't remember exactly why, I'm pretty sure he was just racist. It was like a week after he got elected.

The thing that gets to me though, is that a large portion of Republican congressmen will support this. And the bill was proposed by a former presidential candidate. Even if it doesn't pass, it's scary as hell that a bill like this could even get any major support. And it gives a good insight as to what the world will be like if the Republicans win the next election, or ever get a majority in congress (Do they already have a majority?).

    It's symbolic, more than anything.

They have a majority in the House. Your overreacting over the whole "Republican Apocolypse" thing.

A large portion of the Republican party, and thus the American public support this. I don't think I'm over-reacting at all.

Maybe you guys are just more used to this kind of thing.

Could you show me statistics for the amount of support by the Republicans. According to the OP it was a bi-partisan bill, so then the Dems support it too under this logic.

You may have got me there. I'm going by what I've heard.

Is there a site with information on this kind of thing?

It was a defense spending bill that's thousands of pages long... Chances are everyone supports it and very few have read it. To be honest I tried reading through it all, and when I did I skimmed over the passage that were talking about.

I don't want to sound like Herman Cain, but can't they make them shorter?
On the topic I really don't think something like this could pass, but meh... American politics are crazy

Not particularly, their just very open. If anyone here says that their government hasn't brought up some crazy, insane bill they are lying or the government didn't tell them.

They can't really make it shorter, it's a $600 billion dollar military spending bill, so....

What's the latest on the bill then?

I'm guaranteeing that the bill will not pass, but I thought something like this bill would be passed secretly without anyone really knowing, now that would be outrageous.

The Republicans have shown their true colors, trying to pass this bill is deliberately limiting down the freedoms of the American people and basically spitting in the face of the founding fathers. Policies like this leads you to tyranny which the founding fathers wouldn't want.

I'm hoping that this bill does pass, so that it can lead to some more revolts and despair. Revolution would be on your hands. If the people of America don't even revolt to that then I'm fearing the future for those people.

Okay, it's time for someone to step up to the plate on this one. You and Ler constantly make sweeping statements about the right, calling us out on the way we treat people, how we oppress them. Does it bug me, no, because I know your talking out your ass. However, it's time for you guy's to look in a mirror. Look at what you just said. You want more revolts and despair. That's fucking disgusting, and shows how massive of a hypocrite you are (and by extension, probably Ler) and how you only care about what you want, not the will of the people. Who are you to judge if socialism is right for the people? How the hell are you to make the call for millions? No one. Check yourself here. Are you a good guy, or are you only interested in achieving your ideal ideology, against the will of the people, which you claim to value so much.

Most of OWS only wants change, not widespread destruction and despair. Unlike you, I won't make sweeping generalizations. It's a problem with you alone, not the left. You've literally become so disillusioned, that you've lost site of what people want. For fuck's sake, you claim that America is fascist, all to feed your sick fantasy of achieving your selfish desires. I'm sick of idiots crusading for what they want, under the guise of the will of the people. It's people like you that spelled doom for socialism and communism. It's people like you to that caused the death of millions, under the guise of the greater good, which you have no place to decide. It's not even about ideology at that point, but rather basic human morals.

I'm sick of you assholes calling for violence and revolution, it's litterally grinded me down to my last nerve. Look at your own crimes, and tell me you aren't just as bad as your capitalist oppressors. Then, when your sitting there thinking, by the grace of G-d, you might realize how stupid you've been acting this whole time, and might turn things around. Not even by changing your ideology, but just recognizing that you can't speak for everyone, or the greater good. If you want what you want, get it through peace and the will of the people. Not your disgusting, barbaric ideas of violent revolution.

Sometimes, people are so stupid, it makes my head spin.

'It's time for somebody to step up to the plate' - What? Our 'Extreme posts' are a response to your even more extreme posts. Personally, I believe in a velvet, or peaceful revolution. But to say that a revolution supported by the majority isn't democratic is simply foolish. And the only reason half of America isn't socialist is because nobody knows what socialism actually is. It's like a blind man saying 'I think the color green looks disgusting' (But on a much larger scale.)

Part of this is because idiots like you keep chest-pounding this idea that Socialism is a dictatorship, when you know full well that is not what we believe in, or hope to achieve. In fact, the depiction you put out of socialism is very right-wing. It's impossible to disagree with something you know nothing about, so your argument is invalid.

And stop this whole 'Communism HAS KILLED 500 BILLION PEOPLE' - You know full well it hasn't. And if you do believe that, you are beyond stupid. So make your choice - Liar or Stupid.
Oh, and by the way, capitalism has murdered 1.6 billion people. Of course, your response to that will be more than predictable.

If you think my posts are extreme, you need to redefine that.

Good for you, then my post didn't apply to you.

People have a bias against socialism, but they aren't stupid. The vast majority of people know what it is, and the ability to learn far more is at their disposal. If people wanted it that badly, they would go to greater lengths to educate themselves on it, and then educate others. Very few care enough to do that though.

I said nothing of socialism as a whole. I only spoke of the stupidity of those who believe in violence to achieve the illusion of the "will of the masses".
I know quite a bit about socialism, and a lot about economic policy. Even if I did like the way socialism was presented, I would still disagree with it on the terms that it could never, ever, ever work on a large scale. There are factors that could change this, which is why I enjoy and entertain the idea of a technocratic society. Unfortunately though, the world we live in today has very little place for socialism or communism, and they have been, for the most part, left in the annals of history.

That's dumb. If you guy's don't even know what something was like, why would you blindly throw society at it? Because you guess it's good? No. We do have a general idea though, and I can almost guarantee, barring massive change in society, that it won't work.
