    1. Love how this has become a debate about flags
    2. The red represents the revolution. The yellow sybolizes the unity stretching over the vast red land.
    3. LoL. the Star of David [yes, I've known what it is]. Secularism, anyone?
    4. Don't alot of countries have red in their flags?... the U.S., France, Britian, Russia, Spain, Germany, Canada, heck, even Japan has red in their national flag. Isa think that ISRAEL is the odd one out on this one. LOL.

Yawn. Sounds like, and looks like every other socialist or communist flag. How dreadfully unoriginal.
When things first kicked off in Israel, they had no illusions of being secular. However, we are secular now, so it's meaning is relatively null. Still, in my ideal union state between Palestine and Israel, we would have a much more neutral flag. In the meantime however, our flag is still fresh, cool, and original, aesthetically speaking. Also, why wouldn't you know what the Star of David is? It's pretty much our numero uno symbol these days.
Yes, but their flag isn't 99% red. Most of those have a decent blend of colors, lending them to be easier on the eyes than a red square with a bit of gold in the corner.

    1. Simplicity. What is the problem with that? The first part, but alot of flags have colors representing the transition to their current form [i.e. the red in the U.S. flag is the original 13 colonies]. And the second part just promotes unity in the nation. Nothing wrong with that.
    2. I don't THINK I said that it was bad... its actually kind of nice, if hypocritical.
    3. Its easy on my eyes. Maybe thats just my nationalism. And remember, red is considered a lucky color in Chinese culture, almost to the level of a religion. They didn't say that it played a part, but I'm beyond doubt that it did.

Anarchists believe in the immediate abolition of state. So under Anarchism, there wouldn't really be a nation to give a flag.

Seems premature from the sound of it. Anarchism without anarchy would require more structured social conditioning.

I find simplicity is usually only appealing within the context of originality, which is something the Chinese flag is lacking.

It is a nice flag. It certainly isn't hypocritical though. We are the "Jewish State", so I would say our flag certainly represents that title, and our original outlook. I would say, as a society and government, we have outgrown it though.

I despise the copious amounts of red on certain flags, but that's just me. Also, I didn't know about red being a lucky color. I guess it makes slightly more sense, but staring at the Chinese or Soviet flag for too long still makes my eyes burn.

All communist flags are awful, because all communist symbols are awful.

Anarchy actually means 'Without rulers' - Not chaos. The media has twisted the meaning of it around, much like they have done to Communism. In the end, Communists and Anarchists believe in the same thing. Only difference is the transitional period. I'm inclined to agree with you though. We need time to wipe out our social conditioning/current cultural psychology.

@ Kali - Can't disagree more. In my opinion, the flag of the USSR is probably the most bad ass flag ever.

Too much red. Makes my eyes burn. I would say irritates me on roughly the same level as the British Flag/Union Jack, which the Commonwealth insists on keep around. It's simply dull, and the Union Jack was ugly to start with.

Important to not that the red in that Anarchist banner is interchangeable with other colors. That is, except for yellow.

Chaos and anarchy are synonymous because in anarchy is separate from anarchism. All instances of anarchy that have ever existed have been chaotic. Order is impossible without the ability to enforce rules, which requires a hierarchy.

The USSR and China call themselves communists. Popular definition of communism comes from the people who claimed to be communists and actually existed. Real shocker.

    That's dystopian garbage.

I don't believe in Authoritarian Socialism. And I also believe it possible to eliminate greed/hate through entirely peaceful means.
