So many things happened in the medieval era and just to mention a "city state" vs "city state" wars, look at the Italian Wars.

You do know the Romans had constant rebellions and civil wars? Specifically against their Italian allies.

Well not really, if the Frankish Empire didn't fall apart, there wouldn't be any city state wars on Italy. =P

The only city-state vs. city-state wars were in northern Italy with milan, venice and others

Except all the other wars that had them, oh and when the holy roman empire broke apart into a bunch of minor little states all usually going against each other, Italy was not the only region with city states going at it (tough it had them the most often and the longest)

Yes I did forget the holy roman empire but that did not brake up in the middle ages and most other city-states had given there power to larger nations early on so it was not just city vs city warfare the topic he was talking about

Well, almost all of the city-states in the era had a big brother to protect them, so in almost all of the scenarios where a city state would fight another, they would obviously call in help from the bigger powers or you thought that city states could survive all alone? ( and no, Venice and Genoa are not examples of city state, both had a lot of protectorates and often had more than one city.)

You were talking about counties fighting, and there were independent counties every where in Europe, especially in the beginning. Even the Netherlands had some independent counties back then, like Gelre and Holland.

So does everyone not think about or care about possibly one of the deciding moments of history for Europe 1066?

I don't think that what happened in 1066 is more historically significant than what happened on 1194, or 1206, or 1453.

It's pretty historically significant because it occured in England... The kingdom of England became the British Empire that ruled almost a quarter of the earth's population and area...
    What if the Vikings won?
    What if the Normans lost?
What if the Anglo-Saxons ruled the world?

Well, what if the Crusades didn't fail? What if the Mongol Empire never formed? What if Constantinople never fell? What if the Muslims won at PoitiƩrs? clearly these have much more importance than a battle where a different kind of people won replacing the old rulers, don't get me wrong, it would create a big rivalry that would last for centuries later.
