The thing is that what people find offensive varies from person to person. The government should not be in the business of throwing blanket statements around as to what is offensive and what is not. Just because most of the Eurotrash and Canadians can't handle getting their feeling's hurt does not give them the right to tell people what they can can't say.

That's the national level your forgetting the provinces. Hate speech is dealt with differently by each province, genocide is handled at a federal level.

Also, take this forum for an example. We don't have any free speech regulations (really, I mean we pretend too, but ha, the rules) and shit hasn't gone through the roof. I mean sure we might get some bad apples like Che calling for an invasion and follow up massacre of some of NATO, but it's not like the forum is falling apart.
