United Russia is gonna lose its two-third majority... Maybe they won't even win a normal majority...

Depends on what you classify as "Police state" but they are certainly showing their true faces. This is quite unfortunate and if challenged I hope they will step down before it gets messy. That being said one can make an argument that it is still better for Russians to have Putin in office.

What ever the case real % cannot be far off.

Well according to the BBC News website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-16024938 if you care), exit polls show United Russia on about 48.5%, down from 64, but the closest anyone comes to that is the Communists at a rather feeble 20%. So I would say there isn't much of a credible alternative to Putin, no matter how slim his majority.

The Russian Communist Party is way more popular and much more successful politically then our Communist Party, ours have like 10 people voting for it, lol.

It shows quite a large number of Russians prefer the rule of the Soviet Union, evidently.

The communist party of Russia is more pro-Putin then most people would think, they just want a return to a more soviet style country (giving to the fact a large number of the communist party are old soviet miltary and KGB members, intresting enough so was putin ;))

That there is not, Putin is very wise into what he allows into power and what he does not

I wonder what Machiavelli would have fought about him. A true prince is Putin.

For some reason this whole Russian election process reminds me of a quote I said once.

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing, those who count the votes decide everything."

They need to start having you guys read his discourses at a younger age. Machiavelli was a republican theorist and certainly would have loathed Putin's anti republican tactics.

Then Putin shall make Machiavelli like him!
The closest to following Machavelli I can think from recent times is possibly Otto Von Bismarck - what Stalin said the other day about ignoring ethics in politics but not neccessarily being evil is identical to Realpolitik from what I can tell. Not to say there aren't lots of differences. The point is Putin comes across as what some people like to call Machaivellian, even if this is not really the case at all.
I still say Putin can be a prince, after all, he's younger and more charming than any of the real princes in my country!

The ironic part is i litterly just picked up the prince right after posting, good read if not short and very easy to scribble some notes down to. (chapter 17 still the best chapter )

Edit: Oh and Stalin i have a shirt with that quote on it. I want another one that says "The pope how many divisions does he got?"

Edit part 2: Just posted my notes on the prince in a thread, hope there good.

Edit part 3: Oh yeah i retract my statement on Putin being a prince.

Seems to me like this article is the sort of thing that caused Putin say this. He didn't actually say the US is behind it. They do fund these 'independent' poll-monitoring groups, who accused United Russia of electoral fraud in the first place (a 20% drop in support being exactly what Putin wanted engineered of course)

I thought it was more like trying to appeal to nationalists to shore up his support base really.
