Have you heard of Wojtek the bear? That is the best example of soldiers dicking around. In fact, Wojtek was a soldier himself.

On a tactical level, i agree with it. On a moral level. Hell no.

The bombing of Dresden was a horrible, horrible event. Civilians were incinerated in an inferno that could be seen dozens of miles away. Brutal.

Orphanages and elementary schools should be primary targets.

Eh, fuck 'em. Especially in WWII. I'm not exactly in tears about some Germans being killed after all the terrible shit they did against humanity.

Not only wounded considered casualties, but it's hard to make sure people are only "wounded" from your firebombs.

Your ignorance is astronomical. It is all german speaking peoples fault that someone incontrol of the land back then did crazy shit and hurt millions of people, I mean they were born in the same geographic location how could it NOT be their fault?

No, rather, your's is for thinking it is acceptable to simply insult someone for having a different thought process.
They elected the National Socialists. They flocked to Hitler's armies. They went to rally after rally and heiled for him. They gladly reaped the vast wealth of their conquests without remorse.

Mercy? What mercy was ever shown when they cut through Europe like a hot knife through butter? What mercy was shown when they sent millions upon millions to their deaths? What mercy was shown when they torched our cities, and slaughtered our soldiers?

And now that the tide has turned they are "innocent" and had "nothing to do with Hitler"? I guess it proves how loyal a hungry dog really is.

People who think they are better then others by mere fortune of where they live and what language they speak are ignorant yes. People are not all that different, because they happened to be born and raised in a different culture and exploited by a brainwashing dictator does not make them more worthy of being firebombed. All human beings have the same vulnerabilities , you are not different then the nazi's no matter how much you want to be.

To judge a whole nation is absurd, judge those who lived near the camps, who could see and get ideas of what their government was doing.

Only a minority actually fully backed the party. Hitler was know to use terrorism and intimidation on his opponents and their supporters.

Nazi Germany is infamous for its use of conscription and youth indoctrination. For members of the Hitler Youth program, joining the SS was simply seen as "the next step".

    Again, only a minority.

If by "vast wealth" you mean "rationed butter". Then sure.

    Most Germans we're not Pro-Hitler or Pro-Nazi.

Mind you when Hitler got elected the Nationalist party had more "supporters" then the army in Germany which allowed them to bully the rest of the population to vote for Hitler.

by february of 1945 Hitler's Germany was defeated. there was no need to bomb more cities, there was no need for more people to die than than needed to. and my people did not 'flock' to Hitler nor did they fight for him my grandfather joined the Wehrmact in 1943 he told me countless times he did not trust hitler nor did he really like him but he loved our fatherland and was distrought to see it in such defeat and ever since the war he has carried the burden of what Hitler did on his shoulders. many germans felt this way. "Fur das Vaterland" is often mistranslated to "Fur der fuhrer"
it is easy for other people to say everyone followed hiter, but you arent german and therefor you have no idea what we went though. i still feel shame for what my ancestors did but its not our fault it was drilled into our minds after the war that we are ALL evil, destructive, and vile people it is easier for you to say they deserved it when your people didnt have to worry about 500lb bombs detroying your houses, family and lives

I would say, if at any point a 'war' should escalate to a point where the bombing of a residential district would become "tactically necessary", than it would become unjust.

Well, you're very humane now aren't you?

As for loyalty to the Reich, I doubt many people could possibly see how many wrongs this man would've done, I doubt that any German, living in Germany, would be able to predict a genocide. I have one living relative left of WWII, two of which on my German family died on the Eastern front, three relatives sent to Concentration camps, one was born a Jew and died in a Extermination camp. Out of all of those, I know one of my relatives, with numbers tatoo'ed to her arm. None of those relatives, no matter what their 'loyalty' was to the Nazi party or Nazi Germany, ever would have agree'd with Hitler.

Only in his early days and for a short period of time. Of course he killed political enemies, but that doesn't entirely win you a fair election.

Nazi Germany didn't begin mass conscription until the later days of the war.
Yes, and did they have to? No. They never even had to join the Hitler Youth.

    Not really.

Your confusing 1945 Germany with 1940 Germany. Germany was flourishing with wealth from its conquests after the Blitz and such. In the end, yes, supplies got tight.

The elections weren't "fair" you fool.

They didn't begin mass conscripting Germans until around the time of operation Barbarossa. This is true. However they had been conscripting people from occupied territories prior to that. You should also note that before the blitz the German army wasn't really all that big, and that they relied heavily on the technologies and tactics that allowed for successful utilization of small units and formations.

Key word: Indoctrination. Pressure came from everywhere, most prominently the media and the schools.

    Yes really.....

You act as if the German army was a power-house at the beginning of Hitler's reign. It wasn't.
That took tons of resources and man power to build, and consequently the vast majority of Germany's wealth prior to the blitz and the influx of wealth acquired afterwards.
You would know this if you had any basic understanding of the Military Keynesian economics that Hitler was so fond of.

In fact. Over all you seem to be forgetting the Nazi Germany was a TOTALITARIAN POLICE STATE with absolute control over its subjects and their belongings.
