Well, at least America got a taste of what aerial bombardment was like. For us Brits and Soviets suffered the most in our countries.

I don't remember reading anything about Germans bombing Soviet cities. I thought most of their air capacity was focused on tactical bombing. Even their blitzes of the earlier war really paled in comparison to what we did to Germany and Japan in the end stages of the war

German air capacity was mostly focused on tactical bombing, but Soviet cities like Stalingrad and Leningrad got obliterated by German aerial bombardment. Stalingrad was reduced to rubble after the air raids, but all that didn't actually help the German forces, especially German panzers which were vulnerable when they went into the city.

That's what I always thought. Contrast this with the allied strategy of strategic bombing of German and Japanese population centers and I think we killed a lot more civilians in bombings raids, and caused more physical damage to German and allied cities then the Germans ever did against us.

The allied bombing was pretty horrendous, not that I mean its bad because in the end of the day it was a war, and practically Germany and Japan were the first ones to launch air-raids, or in a wider picture they basically instigated world war 2. The bombing of Dresden would be a key example on how lethal the Allied bombing campaign was.

The Allied bombing campaign was probably one of the most brutal things done during WW2. I'm not sure what the exact numbers of dead German civvies are, but I know it was at least a million.

You should also remember the firebombing of Japanese cities.

You all forget that it was for "the Greater American Good", and that Japanese lives are worth much less than that of people from the US. Also, everyone knows that every single Japanese person is evil and sub-human.

Yes, those damn Imperialist Brits, Frenchies, and Yanks, and their counter-strikes. All the innocent Germans wanted to do was kill all the Jews, conquer everyone, and enslave their people. And then they had to go and create all those free and democratic countries.
