Before you start playing make sure you install More Perks and Project Nevada they will greatly improve your experience.
More Perks? Sounds awesome, I'm running out of cool ones to get. I barely use VATS, and 25% of the perks seem to revolve around that.
It's awesome it adds perks that are actually useful. Why don't you use VATS it's one of the most entertaining things about the game.
I don't know, I'd rather shoot everything in the face myself. I also tend to use weapons that aren't very good with VATS, as in either massive guns that don't really need headshots, or automatic rifles. Although lately, I've really been favouring the trail carabine, that's a very nice weapon. I will look into some mods when I finish this playthrough, though.
Try consoling in Oliver's Anti-material Rifle with hand-load ammunition it does 200 base damage a shot.
Ooh, sounds awesome! I also probably didn't really level up very effectively, but oh well, I have the DLC, the level cap is a lot higher, so you can get quite a bit of skills to 100.
Then what level are you? I barely got level 40 when I finished the game. Then again, I suck at RPG's, so that's probably why. I started off not wanting to go for energy weapons, but ended up using a hell of a lot of them.
I'm 52 I think. I just maximized gun skill first and now I can one shot kill anything in the game with Oliver's Anti-material Rifle.
Ah, that makes sense. I did skip one of the DLCs, I mean, 100 carry limit? Yeah, no thanks, I'll keep my stuff with me. Also, do you have the Wild Wasteland perk? It's kinda useless, but the Alien Blaster you can get is absolutely amazing.
The alien blaster is nerfed in New Vegas and it's an energy weapon i don't use it and Oliver's Anti-material Rifle does more damage. That would be Honest Hearts you can pass a speech check or have the strong back perk to bring more then then just bring a shit ton of stimpaks, your best light or medium armour, and your best weapons. there is also mod with a removable tent that you store all your stuff in and carry that.
It's nerfed? I still massacred The Fort with it. Or, at least enough of it to get to the bunker to upgrade the Securitron army. And I did pass a Speech check, but it still wouldn't allow me to bring a lot with me, so I skipped it. Heck, I was kinda disappointed in the other DLCs, the one in the Big Empty really was the only one I enjoyed. The Divide was much of the same, and the Sierra Madre was just pure hell. In the next playthrough, I'll just install some minor mods and go through some more stuff. For now, I'll be playing Fallout 3.
