I see there was some confusion there, the difference between orthodox and roman catholics is simple. Even pack animals have political issues.
Im sort of an Agnostic. Sure i believe that something big and mighty or small, made this all happen or somehow affected it. I see others beliefs good and i acknowledge, trying not to say bad things about them and sometimes listening what they say about their beliefs. I was raised christian-lutherian-protestant so i somewhat know what christianity is all about. From other religions i know basic stuff but i dont really grasp the deep thought of them. But sometimes i dont care about beliefs or faith on something that you cant see or hear, smell, touch etc. I just want to be left out of the religious seremons if i want to, but if im invited to a lets say to a buddhist monastery or i stumble in there, i will respect their belief and be polite even if i cant tolerate it.
It sucks being under 18 because my dad always drags me to mass every sunday. I know its important to respect the lord, but I think the lord doesn't need everyone to go to mass every sunday. When I'm free, I'll probably go once a month and on special days.
Ok so... I do not say that there is a God, nor do I say that there is no God. Nor do I trust other people's conclusions on the question "Is there a God", but I'd be more than happy to find out myself. And if there is a God... well let's just say he'd be a worthy adversary. "Man should make himshelf God"
No I am not an agnostic (agnostic: person who believes that nothing can be known about God or of anything except material things. Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary of Current English). And no, I will not stop it.
Well, I mean everything you said is pretty much the same as what the dictionary says is agnostic, and no, it's not funny.
Agnostic: person who believes that nothing can be known about God or of anything except material things. Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary of Current English. I said: "I do not say that there is a God, nor do I say that there is no God. Nor do I trust other people's conclusions on the question "Is there a God", but I'd be more than happy to find out myself." meaning that there's a possibility to know about God's existance which is very unagnostic. And to make it even clearer I believe that everything can be known about God and everything. And I understand why you thought me as an agnostic, because I basically said that I don't know if there's a God. But agnostics believe that you can't kown anything about God, unlike me.
Well that belief that belief that everything can be known about god is both useless and stupid if you can't back it up.
How can everything be known about god if nobody knows anything about him? Do you have anything to suggest that you could definitively know anything about god?
I understand that pretty much nothing is known about God, but did the ancient egyptians know anything about nuclear physics, no they didn't but nowadays we know quite a lot about nuclear physics. What I'm saying is that over time we might start learning about God's existance and essence.
Right well to those of us living in the present nothing can be known about the possible existence of a diety. It's almost embarressing to talk about it's like giving legitimacy to the tooth fairy.
I am a atheist for the sole reason that there is no concrete evidence for a God to exist. Im not against the idea at all, I just see no evidence put forth. Also I am not so much against theism, but more against the church. I think there church is a manipulative, vulture and I cannot stand how it is the biggest land owner in England and one of the wealthiest organisations in the world.
So what are we if we consider ourselves gods? Edit: Never mind... I just made up a term for people who consider themselves gods "autotheists" auto = self, theist = one who believes in the existence of a god...
Well I just think that God is the highest level of evolution. ...By the way did you notice the flying spaghetti monster on top of the church of atheism
Agnostic. I see no compelling evidence to prove or disprove the existence of a higher power, therefore I don't care. I am, however, of the strong believe that extremist atheism is just as dangerous and irrational as extremist theism.
I'm an atheïst, I don't believe in God, but I do respect ppl with othr beliefs. But just as the vid Battleearl posted states, that doesn't say alot about me. I have a hard time telling which type of atheïst I am... I'm more or less humanisticly inspired, but I'm also inspired by positivism (belief in what can be explained/proved). But I'm not a true positivist because I don't believe we'll ever fully understand the world/universe. You can situate me somewhere between a postivist (I hope I translated it right, in dutch it's "positivist"/"posivitisme") and a humanist
