Nothing like some kid over the internet trying to go over your head, morally and philosophically.

If your country is being invaded by some evil force, which threatens to destroy your culture, your people, and your home - Then you are fighting to protect your family. Iran poses no such threat to Israel, especially considering it's political/diplomatic position. It's more than possible that Iran may drop a nuke on your country, but that will likely happen before you even get to the recruiting station.

Life is the greatest blessing one has. To throw away yourself like cattle is disgusting, and even more so if you believe in a God.

Edit: This is going nowhere. I'm out.

Yeah how dare you try to defend your family, that is so stupid and selfish of you Matt, and you should just allow your wife to go out alone.

Edit: I'm being sarcastic at this post, hope that much is clear.

Edit 2: How many times has Iran threaten death on Israel now?

Don't get me wrong, you won't catch me defending Iran. I see both nations as just-as-bad.

You clearly didn't read anything I just said. I'd rather die on the battlefield with my family and friends, then cower at home and lose everything I love. But you clearly don't understand that. Get back to me with your moralistic preaching once most of your life experience doesn't come from The Sims. Also, you don't know anything about my G-d, or Judaism, so you can stop bringing that up. Your a ignorant child, but if you think your better than me, go ahead. At least I don't pretend to know and feel what I have no experience in.

Israel has done some things that I am not in full agreement with, though in the end I will put more in line with Israel then with Iran. Though I hope for the sake of both nation's people the leaders wise up and look towards a way of corroboration and peace instead of war and death.

Everything was fine until you started the melodrama. Don't act all surprised, your the one with no sense of humor, and trying to instigate shit. Go crawl back in your hole or talk like a man.

To tell you the truth, I was kind of insulted by those posts. That being said, I brought it upon myself for bringing up such a topic. It's probably best that nobody continues my argument, if you were thinking about it.

    YOU feel insulted?!
And in my opinion, whether or not to close the debate should be left up to Matt, since YOU were the one leveling insults and challening HIM.
I'll abide by HIS decision in this matter.

Forgive me for speaking the truth then. Keep on believing that you have the grounds to tell me what's morally correct in my situation.

Matt has a cause. Matt has something to protect. Whether he dies or not, he will protect it with his life. That's the difference and you need to learn that.

That's in crude (unrefined) oil if I'm not mistaken. Mainly coming from that nasty shit you guys skim of the top of those tar sands. In terms of refined oil, which is the larger market for big oil producing nations, we get most of that from the Middle East.

Also I don't think you fully grasp just how bad any decrease in the amount of refined oil available would be for... well anybody really. Especially considering there is an ever increasing demand for oil that must constantly be met by production growth.

The USA needs a war against a "Real" enemy our economy is in the shitter and there is nothing that lifts a citizens moral then finding out the boys in the army are giving it to the bad guys, our economy will grow our army will see real action, of course our soldiers will die and so will our allies, but I will bet my life, that the economy of the USA will grow a bit, and our industry will actually have a use, face it the US economy relies on industry and workforce and the only thing we export is weapons, and weapons don't sell during peace, and we can not only end the theocratic government of Iran we can also make sure they don't fucking build nukes. then people will learn to fucking respect us. (I feel really bad for saying this but its the truth.)

People aren't going to respect you, because you have the biggest guns on the block. You're mistaking fear for respect.

Fear > respect, I would rather be feared then respected, on the political stage. To quote machiavelli, it is better to be feared then loved.

I think you might be underestimating the US's ability to get their shit together. Our army is very good at transporting military units, and a large naval and air force in the area could allow for a wide enough window for the US to put troops on the ground. I'm not saying that we'll stop Iran at the border, but they won't get too far inland. However, I do agree that if this war happens it will be the most difficult since Vietnam.
