    well that was an independent state before hand, you get what im saying. Seriously how the heck does one war = the entire Mexican territory in the united states getting striped away. Like heck if Mexico won they Propley only get a little bit of Texas.

    Yes they were, California and New mexico were States not colonies, they had capitals, administration railroads, bussiness's.


    They "purchased" them to justify there occupation. and Texas would have been annexed.
