Nice, more exaggeration, and possibly sarcastic, comments about a discovery of a new evolved disease. Now, I'm not the one working on the cures for these diseases, but there will always be evolution in diseases, and medication. So don't you worry your little head, quit being freaked out over an outdated calendar.

    Summery:
    1. The new strain is called TDR for being allegedly 'Totally Drug-Resistant'.
    2. No cure was found by the physicians inspecting the patients in India
    3. TB is bad.
    4. This strain appears to have originated in the Iranian-Afghanistan-Iraq area.
    5. Many countries are unprepared to deal with the an epidemic.

So... it may kill us, it may not? The physicians said that they had not yet found a cure, not that there is not one. The report even states that they are in an ill position to research the strain. As far as they know, the cure may already exist, but they just don't have it with them.
If this is a problem, it can be assumed that countries will look into it.
Also, did anybody draw any curious connections between the alleged origination sites to a current event?

I wouldn't trust doctors in Third World Countries to know what the fuck they're talking about. Even more so if they've only been at it for a week or two.

Developing, technically, in this case. But yeah... I KIND OF said that... but I didn't want to say it straight out on the chance that they may be right.
In this case 'all of the cures' that they 'used' and 'proved ineffective' may mean only some of the weakest ones avalible to cure TB. The chance that this is the case is heightened by several factors including but not limited to:
    1. The people were refugees and thus could not afford the best medicines
    2. The hospital is in India, where a large population could easily use up medicine and dilute the quality of care
    3. The hospital may not contain proper professionals to treat the illness

I'm not saying that they are wrong, just that the information provided is too scant to determine anything with absolute certainty.

India is catching up with the western world, they have doctors and hospitalls that are equal if not better than the ones in the west. Indian doctors know what they are doing and have some of the best equptment availible (this is assuming the patient was transported to the rich mans hospitals). Just because they are a developing country doesn't mean they are morons.

True, they may not be morons, but the report given shows no evidence to contradict the belief that they may be lacking in the proper factilities and personnel. On the contrary, the report indictes that the nations does NOT have the facilities or personnel to research and produce a cure or even the medicines that are standard to treat TB and that they may have 'jumped the gun' and announced that this strain is immune to all treatment without having availible for trial the drugs necessary to determine that it is the case.
And these were not in a 'rich mans hospital'. By all indications, particularly that these individuals were refugees, they were probably in a poorer hospital. They may later be moved if they appear to have a dangerous strain of TB [which they probably already have been, given the magnitude and implications]. Until it can be confirmed that a qualified hospital with all the necessary equipment, facilities, and personnel have verified that this strain is indeed 'Totally Drug-Resistant', we cannot make any conclusions.
Indeed, if this report is proven wrong and the system in India is proper, these doctors will probably be stripped of their profession for 'crying fire in a crowded theater'.
