OOC: The US occupied Canada during the war. The guns are leftovers. Who wants to get close? JK: The ship raises a French flag and the Vancouver Reminents accidentally open fire when they fall over laughing. No, really: The Vancouver Reminents fire a warning shot to inform the ship to stay put and messangers are dispatched to the archives to find a book on flying cloth meanings.
Sillly france. You guys iz cowardly. That is the joke. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha. IC: The ship stands still, with all the men currently either with there rifles, aiming out of portholes, or off the deck, or working the deck gun.
If your a seafaring nation, or at least near the sea, then you would be able to find hundreds of those books. All over the frekain place. they would not be difficult to find.
The Captain sees the soldiers coming near the ship. He knew visiting the coast meant danger, but the risk was worth it. The captain pulls out a 30 ft long flagpole. He attaches the Canadian flag upside down and the white flag under it to show the navy sign for peace. He knew going to Vancouver he was going to need this.
The Vancouver Reminents find the book. Finally prying off the dust and looking at the faded pages, they are thankful for the text, due to the fact that the colors are somewhat faded. The Vancouver Reminents begin to direct the mysterious ship to a guarded harbor.
The Captain tells the men at the harbor the he is a diplomat and a merchant from the Republic of Hawaii. He tells them that he was sent here to discuss a trade agreement between Vancouver and Hawaii. Edit: Can we go over the trade agreement tomorrow Imperial, I'm fucking tired and might fall asleep at any mome-
The captain goes to the Foreign District to discuss the trade agreement. "So far, we offer tropical wood cut from our vast rain forests, obsidian straight from the the volcano Hawaii, and pineapple our nation's delicacy. We also fish if you are interested in that product."
We will trade some small-arms technology for fish and seeds for planting, if you have nay that can survive in our climate.
The captain says "We are sorry, but the pineapple grows in rainy and hot areas. Your climate is unsuitable for growth of the plant. The fish we would gladly trade with you. Just sign this paper stating that you have agreed to trade with us. A trade route will be set and we will give you a map that will direct you to Hawaii." The captain also says "We can buy some goods now. We have around 500 bottle caps and 200 american coin. I would gladly buy your coats because the crew is freezing."
Very well, we shall trade coats and technology for your fish. However, until a suitable currency is established, the transactions will have to occur through the trading of the materials, not currency.
"Very well, although we traded with caravans earlier and they used bottle caps as currency. We assumed that all other factions used it as currency as well. We will trade some of our fish on board for some coats."
"The coats for me and my crew." OOC: Sorry if I confused you with the coats thing. I meant that we were buying the coats, not including them in the trade agreement."
OOC:I thought this thread died a few days after I started it. Can someone inform me of whats happening? IC: The R.M.R continues to head West, towards the commonwealth, looking for work and scavening for resources on the way. If anyone needs any help we are happy to help with our merc business.
