I know that New Zealand is home to a guy who fantasizes about fucking and stabbing cartoon animals from 90's Nickelodeon shows.

The Dutch explorer Abel Tasman did discover the island, which is probably where the name comes from (Zeeland, or Zealand being a Dutch province). It was indeed settled by the British.

The same goes for Australia: discovered by the Dutch, colonized by the British...

Not where I was going with the joke, I was alluding to the expression that the Dutch and British "discovered/found" New Zealand and Australia, geddit now? Huh?
Should have realized lost was probably going to be taken as "lost in a battle" rather than the "I can't find it" lost, I'm dumb
