Been a while since I've been here, but I recently started watching Stalin again and would love to see a LP of Stalin learning (or failing at) Dwarf Fortress, which I think I have become addicted to.

I don't think many people know about it, but it's an extremely deep free game that, despite being in v.3, is more complex and intuitive than most games out there. It's very difficult, but in good ways, and is very rewarding. The graphics are ASCII, but you can download tilesets that make it look much better/easier to understand (I highly recommend the Lazy Noob Pack for new and old players alike).

I suggest the Genesis mod as it adds a lot more Fun and civilizations to slaughter and trade with.

I remember Kalalification, aka Kali, made a LP of it. Search for his channel on youtube.

Its a great game, and I fully support this propositon. But my god the learning curve is ridiculous. Its less of a curve and more of a vertical line in terms of justpicking up the game with no previous knowledge and playing it. But im sure the great Stalin can figure it out, right? RIGHT?

Well, if you read or watch a basics tutorial, make a few basic forts just for learning (without getting very far in, of course), you find that a lot of it is intuitive, because everything you do relies on the same basic principles.

I normally don't like games with such a crazy learning curve, but I did well because everything seems to just make sense.
