    He might have been inspired, and I heard that every move and word in every speech was planned. But I don't know about that story, though. It's very well possible.

    In the book it is done rather differently and it is the best monologue I have ever read, easily the greatest monologue I have ever read. If anyone has not read the book, I sincerely reccomend it.

    Well I'm not sure if you ever saw the movie "The Great Dictator". It was a comedy made in 1940. In the Movie Chaplin plays two parts, the dictator of Tomainia (Nazi Germany) and a Jewish private that fought in World War I and is suffering from memory loss and has been hospitalized for the past twenty years that tries to go back to his life as a barber (in pretty much what is Nazi Germany so you can see the problem).
