While most of the people on my list got on there for there speaking abilities, Jefferson is efficient other ways. Jefferson simply knew how to govern. He was smart. He didn't need the flamboyant hand jesters of Hitler to convince people he was a good leader, he was a good leader. In fact I would go as far to say he had one of the US's best presidencies.

An efficient leader can best be described as one who can live within the resources available to them whilst their enduring ideals permit prosperity to occur over generations, rather than one who only finds success in the short term.

As such, I consider the following to be efficient rulers:

    King Henry VII of England
    Julius Caesar
    Mustafa Kemal Ataturk
    Tsar Peter the Great
    Josef Stalin
    Lee Kuan Yew
    Alfred the Great

Well first of all despite his faults, he actually cares about what happens to our country. He and Ron Paul are probably the only two who do. I mean his passion for his cause is so appealing to me. It says more than what he preaches(with in reason). He has a great record as the longest serving Governor of Texas. This year will be his 12th year in office. This brings me to him being a true outsider. Some say Ron Paul is an outsider for his beliefs, but when Perry says outsider it means something different. He has never served as a politician in Washington like a Congressman. Over the course of his political career he has been Town Rep., Agricultural Commissioner, Lt. Governor, and Governor. All those positions were based in Texas. Under Perry Texas has created 1 million jobs while the nation lost 2 million jobs. Governor Perry is the ONLY candidate who supports Occupy Wall Street. Perry always said the problem with the nation was the direct line between Washington DC and Wall Street. His main criticism is his opposition it Homosexuals, but he isn't this big Homo hating monster people say he is. All he did was use Don't Ask Don't Tell in an ad. He said it should be reinstated, so long as children can't pray in school. Also he was never afraid to stand up for what he believed in. When Republicans called him out on providing state in tuition for immigrants, he said "You don't have a heart". We need someone like that in Washington. I would also like to throw in his ability to laugh at himself. Romney and the others are so high and might that when they make gaffs they spend weeks defending themselves. Perry admits his wrongs and dusts off his shoulders. Plus everyone gave Perry heck for poor debates, but he is because he JUST got back surgery. That serverly handicapped him. If you look is later debates he does wuite well, say that famous 10,000 dollar debate forward? Sure he has his cons, but the pros outweigh them. That is why I support Rick Perry for President.

Why should you be forced to have organized prayer in school? We do not have christianity as our official religion and we dont have an official religion period. There is no reason we should allow organized prayer in school.

O.k In public school there should be no public organized prayer (its why we have the moment of silence) in private school there should be.

Hey I wasn't defending it. It is a "con". That and his opposition to Homosexuality are my biggest problems with Perry. However, all the positives I put in my post outweigh those cons.

Perhaps his views can change, although he is a little to religious for my taste.

They can and he is very religious. The way I see it you have to look at what Christianity means to Perry. To him it stands for Peace, Love, and Hope. Anyone should know Washington could use that.

Well depends if he is going to stand by the Peace, Love, and Hope issue and not be a war mongol, and hopeful end the embargo on Cuba.

I assure you. I have met the Governor. He is a honest good man. Couple that with his record it is unlikely that he will break his promises. You don't have to be a Conservative to like him. He supports OWS. He provided in state tuition to immigrants. In this election and most likely in the 2016 election, Perry will honor his promises.
