seems like there are alot more Cuban's in this forum then i gave credit for. Also in per-revolutionary Cuba
we {people that worked} were able to buy and own modern cars now were back riding in horse carts. thanks alot
Castro. also was Che {real one} actually cuban i think they put a rebel commander from ANOTHER country with
a rap sheet for murdering civs and cops as a minister and adviser to the dictator. Dictatorships are always bad
but at least let it be made up of ones country men! F-all you socialist that is what a cuban in Hialeah says thanks you
    and goodnight.

Woah, clear the room guys! This guy's grandparents/parents were born in Cuba, so he is clearly an unbiased expert on anything to do with it! Sure he's like, 12, but the above post has made me entirely rethink my beliefs on the subject. Thank you, 12 year old brainwashed republican kid.

Now if you don't mind, I'm off to apply for a zookeeping job, and a write a book on advanced surfing techniques. Because all Australians are experts on those sorts of things.

I am 17 and i don't care much about ideology as i do progress. which is why if i could
i would vote obama cause he actually proved that he could create some jobs and stopped
    the iraqi war.

Actually Cubans love Che with a passion, and Cuba is an expert country in American cars to the point they know more about them and how to fix then say just about anything.

Dont know about that, but i think im going to withdraw because well "cuban's" just happens to be a BIG
population and every single one is different. However i still think that fidel is not a "kim jong ill wanabe" as
much as he is just a plain ole {VERY OLD ACTUALLY} dictador like the many in the world. Ideology is just
a tool that he uses to influence people just like any other leader.

There is actually a huge debate if not Castro had Che killed since more Cubans supported Che at the time.

The CIA admits to having done it, so I doubt so.
Edit: Unless castro is in cahootz with the American government, in which case it is safe to say that the world is far more fucked up than any of us can imagine.

Yeah I was skeptical, but being outgunned by the majority of the class I decided to keep my mouth shut.

I think it needs to be pointed out that the reason people can't afford many luxuries over there is due to US embargo. I mean, it's kind of hard to get cars, or feed your people properly when you aren't able to trade with the majority of the world. That being said, Fidel and Raul have done an awesome job keeping the country afloat, considering the circumstances they are in. If a Capitalist nation were to be put under the same pressures, they wouldn't have stayed stable for a fraction of the time Cuba has.

*As for the alleged authoritarianism in the country, yar, that is kind of understandable, considering that the US spends millions of dollars a year funding, and arming terrorist groups, and the whole 300 assassination attempts on Fidel thing.

Actually Cuba has quite alot of cars and there giving to the people by Castro. the US embargo is a drain on the Cuban economy and has done neither purpose of weakening castro to the point of the people overthrowing him, this was thought to be about to happen with the collapse of the soviet union and the economic depression that hit cuba, yet it didn't and Castro was quick to help stabilize the economy although it did require some elements of privatization, mostly in the tourist industry.

They do have quite a lot of cars there, and the whole horse and cart thing is complete bull. I was more using it was an example in my argument. So basically, any suffering caused on the Cuban people by a lack of goods, or economic services is directly the fault of the USA. Thanks, America.

Which is why I'm against the embargo, although we are going to see alot harsher stance to Cuba after they discovered 20,000,000,000 barrels of off shore oil.
