How would you guys like to set up some Half life 2 games just for shits and giggles? Also, could you guys recommend some things for Half Life 2? Like Garry's Mod, for example? I do not have it now but am thinking of buying it.
Gmod is always good, I've dumped an embarrassing amount of time into it. I also found a nifty little HL2 mod called SMOD, it's pretty cool.
Alright, this is now turning into a Help thread, I really need help sorting out Gmod. The game causes my computer to restart every time I do something really funny or constructive in Gmod, and there are lots of missing content. Is there any way to stop Gmod from crashing so frequently? Also, most of the weapons (from Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, etc) are not spawning when I click on them. They're there, I just can't pick them up, see them or use them. And Multiplayer doesn't work. Help me fix, please?
You have to have those games owned AND installed for props and textures from them to show up, and until you do they have the ERROR and pink and black checkerboard placeholders there. If they are owned and installed, try "verifying game cache" for that game through steam. For the crashing, I could be just having too much stuff going on at once/having a crappy PC. Either that or really poorly coded addons.
