Integralism is a reactionary ideology, is extremely religious and is aginst the separation of church and state, while fascism is secularist and is a revolutionary ideology.

By joining some aspects of integralism with fascism, Salazar created a hybrid regime.

By that notion I much rather join the fascist side, or quite possible the Hybrid regime.

But what fascinates (good choice of words) you about living in a fascist state? You know the efficiency is completely based on fear, right?

How did he gain his power? Via elections, a coup or a civil war?

As I said before, a military junta controlled the country since 1926. Salazar was chosen by the president to take place as prime-minister in 1932 and in the next year, created the Estado Novo.

Fascist state requires a high moral and spiritual plain. Just having the idea of intergralism is a very bad idea, and quite possibly the worst form of fascism. Don't get me wrong, intergralism can be embedded in any society that happens to be a religious populism or overtly religious population.

Fascism in any sense strives for a organic, highly centralized big government. Not to add that it is extremely militaristic. Fascism doesn't believe in perpetual peace, but instead believes in the perpetual war. With this it generates fear in the people, almost like a certain phenomena were it increases the adrenaline of a certain person. War could be essentially a productive and energetic thing for people in the fascist organic state.

Seems like something the Romans would approve of.

    Very well, mate.

One question: is that symbol with the sword and the hammer a Strasserist symbol?

Fascism is neither an atheist, nor a religious ideology, and it is wrong to associate either with the ideology. The closest thing you can associate it with is the extreme right wing.

Yes, it is a Strasserist symbol and of course I know the whole Strassrism faction within the Nazi party which in the end became a strong opponent against Hitlerism. I love the flag though, it's amazing.

What's wrong with a fascist faction turning against Hitler?
